[Spanish explanation] Code For A change es una plataforma interactiva gratuita creada durante el confinamiento del COVID-19 por Mariana Quiroga Londoño (.science) y Paula Balcells (), ambas expertas en bioinformática, para aprender a programar con Python. Esta es una iniciativa absolutamente altruista que permite al usuario varias opciones gratuitas 1) Practicar diferentes niveles de Python usando terminales interactivas, 2) Jugar y entretenerse con la primera edición de nuestro reto de programación “Hackea el Virus” que permite conocer el significado de la bioinformática. 3) Apoyar nuestra campaña solidaria para ofrecer acceso a internet o aparatos electrónicos a jóvenes estudiantes sin recursos. ¿Te imaginas pasar el confinamiento sin poder estudiar? Ayudémosles!
4) Con , además, apoyarás la inclusión de mujeres en campos de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM).

Our next realistic goal is to give 1 more month of internet access for the best student. For now, we have only 2 months, and we hope we can reach at least a term as Christmas present.

•4 people donate 5€

Code For A Change has created a charitable campaign during the COVID-19 outbreak to support the education of low-income high school students in San Jose (Educational Institution), Circasia, Colombia by donating easy access to the Internet and electronic devices. IE San Jose is a public school whose students come from vulnerable families (domestic violence, child neglect, unemployment, among others).

The professional future of these students is at risk, and we are here to offer our support. In this institution, there are 1000 students, 267 students of which without Internet access, 143 without electronic devices at home, and others have to share a laptop with their multiple family members. We all know how hard it can be to pursue a potential higher education without having this “freedom”. All these students are facing challenges to complete their studies due to the COVID-19 outbreak, as they must stay at home. Code for A Change launches this international campaign to give them easy access to technologies for their education.

You can help them to continue their studies online from home by donating or sharing this information.
