Such a fantastic week of lessons- it makes me so happy to see the incredible jewellery made by you all this week, I absolutely love the individual interpretations you make of the projects! Please post your successes of this week to this page and be proud of your achievements. We can all learn so much from each other by sharing our creations!

Many of us ladies (particularly of a certain age) have been talking about eyesight in our lessons... today, after 43 years, I have finally formally lost my former eyesight status and am now committed to life behind lenses. Not just reading glasses but additional prescription 'jewellery making' specs!
These beauties have served me well for the last four years, but are alas no longer fit for my declining eyes. For those without the need for glasses, they are a fantastic way to ensure that you are perfecting your jewellery finishes, and particularly important as you progress into more advance techniques such as claw settings. These were around £80 from Cookson but they also sell cheaper 'Optivisors', which come with different magnification and are also fantastic. Amazon also have reasonable priced magnifying glasses, and you can also get nice ones with a headlamp which is super useful in classrooms where the lighting is often not quite 'jewellery-making standard'!
Let me know if you want to try these or my Optivisor, before investing.

Looking forward to my lessons this week- Beginners' will be making their wave bangles, and returners' will finish their marquise stone pieces and start some fusing/retriculation!
