Cambridge Camerata Academy

Cambridge Camerata Academy Cambridge Camerata Academy gives young musicians a distinctly world-class Cambridge musical education with chamber music at its heart.

The Academy is for teen-aged (minimum grade 8) and conservatoire-level pianists, violinists, violists and cellists. We also accept younger students below this level if they demonstrate potential. The main goal of the Academy is to develop the musicality of its students. Under the guidance of acclaimed international performers and music professionals, Academy students play in coached chamber music sessions, perform in a series of recitals and masterclasses, and explore the DNA of music through composition. The Academy also offers several intensive music courses during the year.

A pianist of remarkable individuality and insight, Patrick trained at the Conservatoire de Paris and has performed across Europe, the US and China.

Known for bold programming, deep musical thinking and captivating performances, Patrick brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the Academy.

One of the wonderful things about chamber music is that there’s nowhere to hide, but there’s also no reason to.
Every musician brings something different to an ensemble. At Camerata Academy, students learn how to express their own ideas while listening, responding and supporting the musicians around them.

After playing together for 1 year, Naomi (violin), Aino (cello) and Clare (piano) performed the Shostakovich piano trio no 1 at our end of year recital. At the Academy, we believe performance is a skill to be practised; learning to harness nerves, performing with confidence, staying fully present in the music and supporting your fellow musicians.
