GAP Africa Study Tour 2026 has come to an end. The Duchy College Rosewarne students have landed and are all now on their way home ❤️🇬🇧🚘🚆🚍❤️

It has been an incredible trip, and as staff an absolute pleasure to see our students represent our college and county with pride.

Travel safely guys, I wish you all the luck in your future life paths, its been a blessing to have you as students, and a privilege to have shared the last 2 weeks adventure with you.

GAP Africa 2026.

Brace yourself UK, the Rosewarne group are on their way home! South Africa has been very kind to us. We've all had adventures, and new experiences, we've all made new friends, tried new cuisine, and generally had the best time ever!!!!!

We need to do a species count of the amount we have been so lucky to see here.

For now we are at the Airport after completing the St Lucia to Durban drive and the Durban to Johannesburg flight. Next stop London Heathrow 😊🇬🇧

Day 11: GAP Africa 2026. Today was the last full day in St Lucia so we all headed off to iSimangaliso.
This wetland park is South Africa's third-largest protected area, spanning 280 km (170 mi) of coastline, from the Mozambican border in the north to Mapelane south of the Lake St. Lucia estuary, and made up of around 3,280 km2 (1,270 sq mi) of natural ecosystems.
After an incredible safari the students relaxed on the beach and enjoyed lunch.

Heading back to our hotel for the last evening in Shonalanga before heading home tomorrow.

Day 10: GAP Africa 2026. Whale watching from a teachers perspective 😂🤣😂. We work hard documenting evidence of the students adventures 🤣😂❤️🇿🇦🐋.

Day 10. GAP Africa 2026.
This morning was an early start for some of the staff and students who decided to go on a Whale watching trip.
Although the Indian Ocean was a little choppy (as we say back home) we had a lot of laughs and managed to spot Humpback whales, dolphins and Blacksail flying fish. Due to the waves we have no photo evidence of this 🤣 But promise we did see some 🤣😂🤣😂 🇿🇦🐋❤️

Day 9: GAP Africa 2026. Today the students changed location, leaving the beautiful Bonamanzi and our incredible guides and headed to St Lucia for the final few days in South Africa.
The morning was spent relocating and visiting a local market, and the afternoon was spent on a hippo and crocodile river cruise where the students even managed to spot mudskippers in the wild!
