A huge congratulations to Luke for achieving full marks in his Grade 8 electric guitar exam! Any graded qualification is a great achievement but the dedication and hours to pass grade 8 with full marks is incredible. It’s fantastic to have known Luke as a complete beginner and now a decade later see him achieve his goal. 👏🏻 🤘🏻 I’m sure there’s many more achievements to come 🎸

‘How do I encourage my child to practice more?’ Is question that comes up time and time again! Here’s some simple tips to help…. - Aim for short daily (or every other day) practice sessions focused on small achievable targets.
-Utilise digital support as well as traditional methods.
- If possible, get involved yourself. Asking for a lesson from your child is a great way to engage them.
-If possible create a little space where practice is available spontaneously.
-Learning an instrument is challenging but should in my opinion be fun and enjoyable. Everyone’s journey is different but embedding a lifetime of interest and passion in music is the goal. Music is not and should never be a contest.

Building a repertoire of solos alongside scales & exercises is vital. I’m no Gilmour but I’ll never get tired of playing this solo. 🤟🏻 🎸

Jazz 🤯 I love that style of playing but it doesn’t come naturally. Pushing yourself into other genres of playing is a vital part of musical development. Here’s some 251 lines in Major and minor keys.
