Co-parenting course

The co-parenting course is designed to help separated or divorced
parents or those who have responsibility for children, to better understand and respond differently to conflict and communication.
• The course encourages parents to behave in the best interest of
their children and to better understand what their children need
most from them.
• It challenges parents to consider the emotional effect of separation and give some positive steps of moving forward.
• It explores parent communication and how to react appropriately when under stress.
This course will be delivered by our Kite Family Hub team and is
available to all Kite Academy Trust parents and carers.

Exciting volunteer opportunity to support our local community

The Kite Family Support Workers are looking for volunteers to support them in their partnership with Farnborough Foodbank (part of the Trussel Trust). In the last 6 months, the Trussel Trust gave 1.3 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. Their foodbanks across the UK provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face.

From later this year, Farnborough Foodbank will be running a distribution centre from the Kite Family Hub (located next to Mytchett Primary Academy) - a place where people can collect food parcels, seek advice and support and enjoy a hot drink and a biscuit or two! To make this successful, we are looking for a group of volunteers to run the sessions on Friday mornings. As a volunteer, you will be supported with training from the Trussel Trust as well as ongoing support from them and our FSWs.

A pre-recorded workshop for parents and carers,
offering practical advice and strategies to support families.

These recordings will support parents and carers to understand the
importance of clear and consistent routines for children. We will explore the positive benefits that predictable routines have on our children’s wellbeing, including looking at how to set these up and implement them.

Helping your child be their best
Active Surrey will run this workshop in conjunction with YMCA East Surrey’s Community Wellbeing Team, giving tips on how to help your child reach their potential physically and mentally. Learn about the Tree of Wellbeing and the links to activity, nutrition, hydration and sleep.
