Yesterday, we were invited along to an event organised by the wonderful GUkraine at the Guildford Ukrainian school. The author of a book, written to help children and parents deal with the war, was there to read the book to the kids. ITV news was also there as was the mayor of Guildford.

We would like to share a lovely message from a Family Learning English as Another Language (EAL) learner. 👪

"As parents we are the first and the most important teachers to our children but when you relocate to another country this natural role could become a challenge . The course helped me to overcome my own language barriers; to learn more about the UK’s education system and to be confident when helping my son with his homework. I also found new friends that I could relate to: we helped and supported each other throughout the course and beyond. The knowledge, the advice, the friendly and warm atmosphere throughout the course were the first steps that inspired me to peruse career in Early Years. I continued my learning journey, gained EYTS and now I enjoy a job that allows me to help children achieve and develop lifelong love of learning." - Zornitsa Milanova-Velikova

If you would like to join one of our EAL courses, you can enrol today for January 2023! http://ow.ly/kSYa50LZEzz

'How do I talk to my child about Autism?', many parents wonder. Here are some tips from Autistic parents, who were once Autistic children.
Normalise differences. When we equate being different to being ‘normal’, then telling our children that they are Autistic can be presented as just part of the natural diversity of the human condition.
Autism is just a name to describe the different set of strengths, challenges and experiences of the world a person has, and this difference is important. Because the world needs all kinds of brains.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for a brighter 2022.

“Job scams happen all year round, but it is especially important to be alert to these scams during the festive period. The increase in seasonal and temporary jobs during this time is a perfect opportunity for scammers to try and take advantage of unsuspecting people.” Dr Suzanne Smith, Executive Director of Barring and Safeguarding at DBS
