💛 MEET OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL - MRS MORGAN! 💛

We’re very excited to be celebrating Mrs Morgan as she takes on a very special new role at Calstock from September! 🏫

After 12 years of teaching, including the last two years here at Calstock, Mrs Morgan will be stepping into the role of Head of School. 💛✨

Born and raised in Cornwall, she has taught in a wide range of schools. Over the past two years, she has particularly loved being part of the Calstock community and is very excited to continue that journey in her new role! 🌈

Her favourite things include chocolate 🍫, travelling ✈️ and outdoor learning 🌿 – so it’s probably no surprise that she believes some of the best learning can happen when children are outside, exploring and discovering the world around them! 🌍

In Class 1, Mrs Morgan likes to foster confidence, kindness and a safe, happy space where everyone feels valued and excited to learn. ❤️✨

As she takes on her new role as Head of School, she is looking forward to building on the warmth, creativity and love of learning that already flourish throughout our school community. 💛🏫

We feel incredibly lucky to have Mrs Morgan leading our Calstock family and can’t wait to see all that this exciting new chapter brings! 💙💛💚

🌈 MEET THE TEACHER - MRS LOVEJOY! 🌈

We’re so excited to welcome Mrs Lovejoy to Class 2 this year! 🥰📚

Although she’s new to teaching Class 2, she is certainly not new to our school! Mrs Lovejoy has been working here as a HLTA for over a year, so she already knows our school, children and community very well. 💛🏫

Originally from the Gulf Coast in South Texas 🇨🇱, Mrs Lovejoy has taught in Austin, Brooklyn and Plymouth before settling here in lovely Calstock!

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her reading, doing yoga 🧘‍♀️, weight-lifting 🏋️‍♀️ or taking her dog, Taco, for walks around Cornwall, often with her children William and Maeve in tow!

A few of her favourite things include rainbows and glitter 🌈✨, tacos and Texas barbecue 🌮, the beach 🏖️, and plenty of coffee - especially iced coffee! ☕

In Class 2, Mrs Lovejoy is looking forward to nurturing curiosity, creativity, empathy and critical thinking, whilst building on the strong foundations of kindness and teamwork. 🌱✨

She’ll also be spending some Wednesday mornings in Environmania, helping the children develop their skills as stewards of the natural environment. 🌳🌿

And her Class 2 expectations are ones we absolutely love: 💭 Respect, empathy, hard work and kindness - towards ourselves and others. ❤️

We’re so excited to see Mrs Lovejoy take the next step in her journey with us and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things Class 2 get up to this year! 🥰🌈

✨️ MEET THE TEACHER - MISS EDWARDS! ✨️

We’re so lucky to have Miss Edwards as part of our school family! 💕 She has been with us for almost a year and teaches in Class 3.

Originally from Scotland, Miss Edwards loves travelling, exploring new places and learning new things! ✈️🌍 When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her enjoying the beach, garden or countryside. 🏖️🌿

A few of her favourite things include Caribbean food 🍛, the colour orange 🧡 and sharks! 🦈 Her go-to drinks are a good old cup of tea ☕ or a nice glass of water. 💧

In Class 3, Miss Edwards enjoys creating a safe, supportive and creative classroom where every child can celebrate what makes them unique, work as part of a team and feel proud of their individual goals. 🌈✨

💛 Thank you, Mr Towe 💛

This half term, we said a very fond farewell to Mr Towe, who is leaving us after almost nine years of leading Calstock Primary School.

It is difficult to put into words just how much he will be missed.

Mr Towe has been an exceptional leader, but above all, he has been a much-loved member of our school community. His warmth, humour and infectious personality have helped to make Calstock the special place it is today. He has always believed in the power of people - creating a culture where teamwork is valued, staff feel trusted and supported, and teachers are empowered to be confident in their own practice.

At the heart of his leadership has always been the children. He has championed the importance of authentic, meaningful relationships between adults and children, recognising that when children feel known, valued and understood, they are able to flourish and achieve their very best.

His impact can be seen not only in the classrooms, but in the confidence of staff, the happiness of our children and the strength of the relationships we have built with our families and wider community. He leaves behind a school that has grown, developed and flourished under his leadership.

It was wonderful to see staff, parents, children and members of our wider community come together at Firebrand to give Mr Towe the send-off he truly deserved. The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, stories and plenty of fond memories - a fitting celebration for someone who has given so much to our school.

Mr Towe, thank you for your leadership, your laughter, your belief in people and, most importantly, for everything you have done for the children and families of Calstock and Stoke Climsland Primary School.

We wish you every happiness and success in your next adventure. Whatever comes next, we know you will make a difference wherever you go!

You will be hugely missed. 💛💚💙

This half term, we said a very fond farewell to the wonderful Mrs Kilpin.

Donna has been an incredibly special part of our school family and will be hugely missed by children, staff and our whole community. Her creativity, passion and dedication have given our children countless enriching experiences and memories that they will treasure for years to come. She has a truly unique way of inspiring children, bringing learning to life and helping every child believe in themselves.

From the beautiful mural at Plymouth Train Station, the Tamara Landscape Project, and the unforgettable performances in the churchyard for the Living Churchyard Project, to so many other incredible opportunities, Donna has left an unforgettable mark on our school. These are just a few examples of the amazing experiences she has created for our children over the years.

Thank you, Donna, for your kindness, imagination, unwavering commitment and for helping to make Calstock the wonderful school it is today. Your legacy will continue to inspire us all.

With so much love, we wish you every happiness and success in the future. Thank you for everything. 💙💚💛
