A bit different to my last topic if you read that. Just a ramble of my own thoughts if anything!

Don't take on too much at once. Instead of trying to be great at lots of things, be great at a few and good at the rest.

Trying to find balance is hard but it's important for a healthy mind. I had an email yesterday in which someone asked the question "what should I do when I have an unproductive day?" The answer, "nothing".

We can't be productive all the time. We can't worry about it all the time and certainly not now when there's too much other s**t going on. You're juggling child care, education, working from home, cooking, cleaning, keeping fit, taking shopping round to your parents, thinking up questions for the family quiz and a whole host of other things. If you have a day where it seems nothing gets done, it's not the end of the world.

Had a productive day? Great, celebrate it. Not had a productive day? Don't worry about it. Move on. Who's going to arrest you?

Parkinson's Law: "Work expands so as to fill the time available for it's completion".

If you assign two hours to a task then it'll take you two hours. If you assign an hour to that task, it'll take you an hour. Keep this in mind next time you have a deadline or a lot to keep up with.
