🥳 Welcome back! 🥳

New term, new school year, new upgrades and reminders 🍂

- Reward system for under 12s 🙌

Each child under 12 can earn a sticker to go on a shared chart. Once all 12 sticker spaces are filled, any child that has earned the most stickers out of everyone, will receive a small well done token.

The aim is for each child to aim to get more than one sticker on this chart - to achieve this, they have to do all the things that were needed to get the star of the week last term. 😀

This will be explained in your child's first lesson this coming week 🤗

- Pay as you go payments 💳

Just a polite reminder for the few of you that have opted for pay as you go lessons, payment is due on the day of the lesson where possible. If there is an issue with this at any point, please speak to me and we can come to an agreement 😊

- Illness 🤧

With the new term comes with the inevitable sickness rounds! If the student is too poorly to go to school or work, please refrain from bringing them to their lesson. I've never turned a student away but I reserve the right to if I feel they pose a contagion risk or are too poorly to concentrate.

☀️ SUMMER HOLIDAYS ☀️

My diary is now open for bookings for the summer holidays.

If you havent already, please let me know if you plan to be away or plan to take a break.

I will not be making any bookings for normal term time times as everything becomes open and flexible for the summer (unless requested). Please message me asap if you'd like a specific day or time to avoid disappointment, as it is first come first served 😬

If I don't hear from you I will chase up with a message next week, but I won't book you in until I have heard from you.

🥵 Extreme heat 🥵

With temperatures set to rise to 40°C this week, if any schools are shutting early and you wish to attend your lesson earlier (and if I have space), please do contact me as soon as possible.

My music room is doing okay currently but I can't say what it will be like with it being 40°C outside. I will do my best to keep it as cool as possible!

👶🎶 Under 5s music workshops 🎶👶

Are you wanting your young child to start getting an understanding for music and rhythms ready for choosing and learning an instrument when they're old enough?

Introducing my 15 minute workshops! These workshops are 1:1, engaging and interactive with a basic introduction to piano to help with pitch development and experimentation.

To keep the little ones engaged, I play games and use familiar themes to let them have some control of how they learn.

Minimum age of 2 required and maximum age of 5 - 5 year olds can start to have sit down piano lessons with me 🥳

Congratulations to Sienna for getting the star of the week last week! ✨️🥳

You had quite a tricky session getting to understand reading music with a big barrier to bring down with it. You absolutely aced it and hopefully felt much better leaving the session, knowing that these struggles are very normal and you overcame them!

Home education music sessions

With a sharp rise in home schooling, I have a new service on offer!

60minute sessions available during the school day as a way to combine a focus instrument (piano and vocals) with general music knowledge and appreciation.

The focus side will be your normal singing or piano lessons. The general music side will be music appreciation, musical terms, different instruments, different styles and genres, how music makes you feel, rhythm work with percussion instruments and music expression.

I have a lot of experience in primary music teaching as it was my job for the early part of my career so I have the capability to plan lessons for your child to bring on their general knowledge.

Congratulations to Maddison for getting the star of the week last week! 🥳

You tried so hard with our rhythm and notes task - using counting showed me that you really understand the notes even though some rhythms can be tricky still! You're doing so well - keep it up!

Maddison is the youngest student I teach at only 3 years old 🤩

Ellie got brave and curious last week with trying the pedal in a piece for the first time! I didn't even have to show her - she just went for it and nailed it first time 🥳🤩 super impressive - keep it up!
