Year 8 Geographers have been learning about Meteorology, the study of weather, and why it plays such an important role in our daily lives.

Students explored how Meteorologists use specialist instruments to measure weather conditions and create forecasts that help people stay safe, plan transport, support farming, and prepare for changing weather.

They also investigated how technology, including satellites and weather stations, helps improve the accuracy of forecasts.

Ben Rich, a BBC Meteorologist from Devon, kindly shared a video and told us why his job is so important.

It's National Poetry Day!

To celebrate, we're delighted that our Year 11 students are running a poetry competition for the whole school. Judging will take place on Monday 5 October so there's still time to get your entries to Miss Smith.

Here's some of the incredible work we've received already.
