Delighted to say that Tessa, or at least, two of her works, have been hung at the Royal West of England 169th open exhibition in Bristol. The exhibition is open until January 2023.

Pleased to say that my painting ‘I must wear the yellow stockings’ has been selected for the South West Academy Open exhibition 2021.
I’m particularly pleased as it’s one of my favourite works telling a fascinating story from the private life of JMW Turner. The title is a reference perhaps to Malvolio in Twelfth Night or maybe to the yellow Turner used in his work that didn’t go down well with the public.

It is clear that artists, along with everyone else are keen to get back out there (wherever that is) to do what they do best. For us this means a lot of enquiries recently for residential art courses which means we are virtually full for this year. For safety we have reduced our maximum number from six to four guests on any one course. Let's hope we might open as planned at the end of May.
If you want to come on one of our courses (and we hope you will), you can ask us about this year but soon we will be looking at dates for 2022 and will post them on our website.

It has been quiet for many weeks and we have missed having the house full of artists enjoying the Cornish experience and the fun of painting with others in our splendid studio.
Now, however, we are reopening and it is clear that you want to come as we are receiving a steady flow of enquiries and bookings for the remainder of this year and for courses in 2021.
It's good to be back.

Just to let you know we are very keen to keep our small art school viable in these difficult times but we want to reassure you that we will still be here when things return to normal. In the meantime, I am sure you will be using your lock down time to be creative!

You will no doubt be trying to fit this in in-between trying to sort out your family photographs, sort your wardrobe or delve into the dark under stairs cupboard! Would it be of help, with your artistic pursuits if I offered you some on line tuition? Some of you will know that when I start a course I ask everyone to bring something with them for discussion, either that they thought they did quite well or that they had real trouble with. I am happy to do this now at no cost to those booked on to one of our courses. There are different ways it could be done, eg. you could email me work in progress for advice and we could discuss by email or by telephone, Skype or use some similar platform.

If you’re interested drop me a line and we’ll see what works best.

We don’t know yet which courses we can run but are working on some extra dates towards the autumn and winter. For those who don’t mind using the location time for just a photographic walk, the winter light is wonderful in Cornwall).

I hope that helps and that you all are keeping safe wherever you are.
