A special message from one of last year’s Year 7 students to next year’s Year 7s!!
“I am writing to you because I want to inform you what it is like to take the big step up to Secondary School. I know exactly how you are feeling now, excited and nervous at the same time. I want to write to tell you about my first year so far.
When I first arrived, the school felt huge compared to my small primary. The teachers are really helpful and are always there if you need them. I did get lost a couple of times but there are always older students to direct you the right way. After the first week, I already knew my way round!
As a Year 7 student, I found it nerve-racking starting at Caistor Yarborough Academy because I only knew one person from my primary, but they were not in any of my lessons. However, I walked in and started talking to people. Soon, less than 10 minutes into the lesson, I had already made lots of new friends! After a day I had easily overcome my fear!”
Starting secondary school is a big step, and it's completely normal to feel both excited and nervous. One of last year’s Year 7 students has written that heartfelt letter to this year's Year 7 pupils, sharing their experience of settling into life at Caistor Yarborough Academy.
From finding their way around the school to making new friends on the very first day, this wonderful letter is full of reassurance and encouragement for those preparing to join us in September.
We can't wait to welcome our new Year 7 students and help them begin their own exciting journey at CYA! 🌟
