Safe from the storms!

You may have noticed we are in Spain and you’ll be glad to know whilst it rained heavy here over night, we are not amidst the devastation that occurred further north.

The only floods here are the tears from leaving and the Rioja they managed to put away.

It’s been 4 days since I last spoke 🦠

But who needs words with views like these.

This photo was taken in Spain. Today I was a few kilometres as the crow flies from this exact spot.

What a coincidence and a wonderful way to remember my Dad and our shared love for this part of Andalucia. Today we trekked the Gran Senda de Malaga and the El Saltillo suspension bridge. I’ll follow up with some photos of the dramatic landscape later this week.

But today I want you to join me in remembering Patrick. My Dad. 4 years gone today.

What essential item have you forgotten to pack for a holiday??

I got to Spain and had to brush my teefies with my finger 🦷 oops

After a terrible week of dying from Welsh flu… I flew to Spain for our long awaited collab Trip ‘Andalusian Wonders’.

Feeling rough and about to lose my voice, unlucky for me but a blessing for others.

Ready for a long weekend of tapas and trails 🇪🇸

They say the white powder is addictive... I have never been a fan, unless its a nice blue run that passes a few Weiss B**r shops. But if you like the spikes and stuff then this is worth a look.

‘Go back to where you came from’

Some guy tells me online when I dared to say;

‘I prefer warm and dry weather’ ☀️

I really don’t think my Mum would be ok with that… 🤰so instead I’m going to head off to Spain next week!

I will be sat here in 7 days in preparation of my first Spanish Hiking trip that has been in the pipeline for many years.

Finally made another dream happen.

From pulling to pushing was the theme for all of this week’s sessions.

Another fab week of helping folks get the most out of their bodies when climbing. Be it scrambling or cragging, the foundations all begin with good balanced footwork.

Explore how hands can become an afterthought with any of my remaining workshops for Autumn.

How can this small person upset so many people with my social media posts?

My humour may be sarcastic, my opinions not suited to everyone. I’ve used SM to share my experiences, hot relevant topics, useful advice… in my view all very balanced and informative… I don’t share strong views or do’s & don’ts. I just like to give food for thought.

It’s been another week of the Facebook community taking chunks out of me for harmless discussions and even getting called a dimfluencer as a first.

Sometimes I think, I’d love these people to meet me. Within 10 seconds they’d see my love for the outdoors, how I share my knowledge to protect it as best as possible and how we can all@enjoy it ethically and safely TOGETHER.

I don’t exploit the ‘outdoors and landscape’ to make a quick book.

I chose to make my teachings my job. Afterall it’s where my genuine passion comes from. And I didn’t ask to be born into a capitalist world.

If I could disable Facebook I would. It’s just a double edged sword as it’s where I find my tribe.

To the haters… meet me for a coffee and say it to my face.

PARKING nightmares at the weekends in the Eryri hotspots….

My team and I had some great chats this weekend and the popular subject of overcrowding in honeypot spots cropped up as normal.

It got me thinking for the 2027 season;

🚗 Would you car share with people if I made a prior group chat for events? Maybe you are travelling in a similar direction.
🤔 Maybe you could collect the all important leader on the way through?

🚎 Please note I offer the bus service as an option. It works well for;

Crib Goch and routes from Pen y Pass. I’ve met over 20 small groups this year in Llanberis and took this stunning bus journey in.

The park and ride into Ogwen is useful and again, I’ve used this with groups. But the limitations are the later start (no early bus) and the lack of parking in Bethesda.

Even this time of year it’s difficult to park in certain areas. I’m not inclined for Alpine starts as my customers sometimes have a distance to travel.

It’s been a fab weekend of making people climb rocks for leisure.

My specialty really is helping YOU master balanced movement on rock. Informal and achievable coaching skills is something I’m super passionate about. Watching my regulars grow and flow is just a treat.
