Diwrnod gwych yn Bangor University heddiw gyda Product Design Bangor!

Cafodd ein disgyblion y cyfle i gydweithio gyda myfyrwyr y brifysgol i ddatblygu cynnyrch fydd yn helpu i ddatrys angen go iawn ym mywyd bob dydd rhywun. Dros y misoedd nesaf bydd y timau yn dylunio, gweithgynhyrchu, profi ac yna cyflwyno eu syniadau i feirniaid mewn digwyddiad terfynol mawr. Bydd gwobrau yn cael eu cyflwyno i’r syniadau gorau ar draws 3 ysgol yng Ngogledd Cymru. 🏆

Fel rhan o’r prosiect, bydd y disgyblion hefyd yn ymweld ag AMRC i gael cipolwg gwerthfawr ar y byd diwydiant, peirianneg a’r ystod eang o yrfaoedd sydd ar gael yn y sector. ⚙️

Diolch enfawr i Reaching Wider Mentoring am drefnu a hwyluso’r prosiect arbennig yma, ac am roi’r offer i ni allu gweithio arno, gan gynnwys argraffydd 3D newydd am ddim! 👏

Mae hwn yn gyfle gwych i’n disgyblion ddatblygu sgiliau dylunio, peirianneg, creadigrwydd a chyflwyno mewn cyd-destun byd go iawn.

A fantastic day at the Bangor University Product Design Department today!

Our students had the opportunity to work alongside university students to develop a product designed to solve a real everyday problem. Over the coming months, teams will design, manufacture, test, and pitch their ideas to judges at a final showcase event. Awards will be presented to the top ideas from 3 schools across North Wales. 🏆

As part of the project, students will also visit AMRC to gain valuable insight into industry, engineering, and the range of careers available within the sector. ⚙️

A huge thank you to Reaching Wider for organising and facilitating this fantastic project, and for providing us with the tools to make it possible, including a free 3D printer! Bambu Lab 3D👏

This is an incredible opportunity for our students to develop their design, engineering, creativity, and presentation skills within a real-world context.

Roedd cynrychioli ein hysgol ar lwyfan cenedlaethol yn brofiad anhygoel i’r disgyblion, nid yn unig o ran rasio, ond o ran sgiliau bywyd, hyder a gweithio fel tîm dan bwysau.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been one week since the UK Final.

Representing our school on a national stage was an incredible experience for the students, not just in racing, but in building confidence, resilience, and performing as a team under pressure.

Dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf mae ein disgyblion wedi cael cyfleoedd anhygoel drwy ein gwaith gyda Ymestyn yn Ehangach. Mae’r fideo hwn yn dangos un o’r profiadau arbennig yn Betws y Coed a gafodd y disgyblion fel rhan o’r rhaglen.

Heddiw roeddem yn falch iawn o fod yn ail safle efo’r wobr “Cyfraniad Eithradol Sefydliadol” yn yr Dathliad Blynyddol, sy’n cydnabod y gwaith a’r cyfleoedd sydd wedi cael eu darparu i’n dysgwyr.

Over the past year our students have had some fantastic opportunities through our work with Reaching Wider. This video shows just one of the experiences at Betws y Coed that students were able to take part in as part of the programme.

Today we were proud to be runners-up for the “Institutional Outstanding Contribution” at the yearly celebration event, recognising the work and opportunities provided for our learners.

A big thank you to MWT, Reaching Wider, Bangor University, and Owain Llyr for their support and collaboration.

These opportunities make a real difference for our students.

Exciting upgrade in the Design room this week!

We’ve installed new display monitors to improve the quality of design and editing work. Bigger screens, sharper detail and clearer colour.

Today, Year 7 were using them to edit adverts for their own chocolate brands.

The right equipment = better results.
