The children have been busy this week making wreaths and other items to decorate the Holy cross church, Byfield, for the Christmas craft fair.

This is happening on Saturday between 11-2.
There will be food and drink stalls, tombola and raffles, hand made crafts and gifts and free children’s crafts.
If you are free to go along and support, please do, and see if you can spot the children’s decorations.

In Byfield nursery, we offer adult led phonics and maths sessions each day.

We use the ‘Monster phonics’ phonics scheme in line with the rest of Byfield school.
Below is an example of a daily phonics session.

In phonics today, Stacey helped ‘Miss Oh-no!’ teach the children about the weather.
Using a variety of instruments the children have to tune into sounds and link them to the pictures. This is to promote listening skills, and develops links to pitch, notes and intonation used in speech and phonics.
