In memory of the lovely Fiona Taylor, we have a new outdoor story chair. Fiona was always an amazing story teller and reading to the children was one of her favourite things to do, so it seemed apt to incorporate this as a way to remember her in nursery.
It only arrived yesterday but the children are already loving listening to the teachers reading stories there or sitting on it and 'teaching' their friends.
Fiona worked at Flagg Nursery for 42 years and her impact will live on forever.

Well done to all the children today on the Big Toddle. We are all very proud of them, they walked all the way to Monyash and had a play in the park. Then they all had an ice-cream, very kindly donated by George's parents at the Old Smithy and a glass of squash, very kindly donated by Sharon at the Bulls' Head.

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to pass on the news that Fiona Taylor, who was a teaching assistant here at Flagg Nursery School for 42 years, passed away on Wednesday. She retired through ill health in July 2024. I know that many of you who are now parents of children in nursery were taught by Fiona when you were young and that you will have many fond memories of her. She had the rare ability of being able to light up any room she walked into. One parent who was taught by her said "she made me feel safe." Fiona was kindness personified. I will be organising a fitting tribute to her when the time is right. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Rob, her sons Harry and Harvey and her daughter -in-law Lauren.
