Some of our children went to the Crescent in Buxton this morning and had the absolute privilege in meeting a real author – Berlie Doherty! Reading some of Berlie’s books in English lessons– Children of Winter in Y4, Treason in Y5 and Street Child in Y6 – the children had the opportunity to chat to Berlie and ask questions about her life, her books and her inspirations. Thank you to the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust for arranging this amazing visit, thank you to the children for being fantastic ambassadors of our school and of course a huge thank you to Berlie. A wonderful morning!

As part of the Year 4 curriculum, the children had a visit to Peak Wildlife Park where they were able to link into their Geography topic 'why is the sea a dangerous place to live?', specifically focusing on water and the environment. Although it was a very wet day, everyone had a great time and were all so well behaved.
