Last week was full of outdoor adventures and exciting discoveries πŸŒ±πŸ›
We enjoyed a beautiful walk down to Beresford Dale, taking in the scenery and exploring our local area.
We also had another fantastic visit to Ilam Park, where we went pond dipping, looking at life beneath the water as well as food chains and the importance of nature.
It was a wonderful week of fresh air and hands on learning πŸ™Œ

🌱Our Wildlife Area is Taking Shape! πŸΈπŸ¦‹

This term, our children have been working hard at creating a wonderful new wildlife area for everyone to enjoy.

They’ve shown great teamwork and determination by measuring and digging a hole for our new pond, carefully sanding down an old bench top and transforming it into a useable sturdy bench to sit and watch the wildlife. They also made an important decision to leave the grass uncut, creating a welcoming habitat for insects, birds and other wildlife.
This week we have had a winding path mown to allow the children to explore and experience nature up close! πŸπŸ›πŸœ

Here is another one of our brilliant heart models in action!

In science we are continuing to learn all about our bodies and have moved on to the circulatory system. To help us understand how the heart works, we made models to represent the different parts of the circulatory system and their functions πŸ«€πŸ«

KS2 are loving our PE unit which is orienteering this term. So far, we have learned the different orienteering symbols, read simple maps with these on, practised hurdles as obstacles and today looked at the different targets and how to match them up. After half term, we will be drawing our own maps with the correct symbols and placing targets around the school ground for the children to find.
