Primary 7 had a great morning at Ballymoney High Schoolโs โTaster Dayโ this morning! We experienced what life was like in a Secondary School environment, explored different subjects and got to test out our creative skills in History, Technology and ICT. A super morning, thanks to all staff at Ballymoney High School!

Some pupils at school have been learning to play table tennis with Frank. If they would like to continue to do table tennis outside of school please find the details of a club below. Please note the first night is our Carol Concert but the club will continue again on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. ๐

On Friday, our whole school from Nursery to Primary 7 took part in the annual Santa Fun Run! We put on our Santa accessories and ran a mile together! A great (and active) start to December - well done everyone!

Nursery, Primary 1 and Primary 2 went for a lovely walk this morning to post their letters to Santa. They made a visit to the Post Office to get a stamp and then sang a couple of songs to the staff. After they put their letters in the post box they made a quick visit to the Christmas tree!๐ฎ๐ ๐ป๐

We are all having a lot of fun at knitting club! We have done lots of practice and have mastered the knit stitch. This week, we are beginning to knit our very own hats! Great work everybody, happy knitting!

If you would like to find out more about us, we would love to see you at our Open Afternoon. If you cannot make it please feel free to contact the school to arrange another time to visit.

You did it!!
Congratulations to all our P7 pupils who completed their final SEAG test today!
You have all worked so hard over the past few months and we are all so proud of your perseverance, your hard work and your dedication. You are all stars โญ๏ธ

Primary 1 all received a lovely book from the Book Trust today. We hope you enjoy reading it! ๐

We need your help!
Would anyone be willing to help us repair our vegetable patch, poly tunnel and chalk board?

Primary 1 and 2 had a tidy up of our Eco garden. They brushed up all the leaves and did some weeding.

Meet our enthusiastic Eco-Committee! We have class representatives from Primary 3 up to Primary 7. They are keen to get planning some activities for the whole school to help get our next green flag.

Last Friday, two of our P7s were invited to meet the new Childrenโs Rights Commissioner for NI in Coleraine Library. We spent the afternoon meeting and chatting to Chris Quinn, learning about his role in supporting Childrenโs rights and asking him questions about his job and life. We are proud of these two boys representing Bushmills Primary School and offering their views and questions about what is important to children in our community. Thanks to all the team at Coleraine Library and NICCY for the invite!
A huge THANK YOU to all who attended our table quiz which was held in Bushfoot Golf Club on Friday night. A special mention goes to Bushfoot Golf Club for allowing us to host the quiz on their premises as well as Trevor and Caroline McKendry (assisted by Sharon) who acted as quiz masters throughout the evening. It is fair to say a great evening was had by all with a total amount of ยฃ525 being raised in total for school funds. We are truly thankful and look forward to the next PTFA event ???

Don't forget to get a team together for Friday night! Look forward to seeing you all there!

Why not come along with friends and family to what we hope will be a great night and help raise some funds for our school!!!

Special thanks to Ella and Callum (Head Girl and Head Boy) who laid a wreath this morning on behalf of our school at the Remembrance Day service here in Bushmills.

It has been brought to our attention that there has been some confusion over a message received by some of the wider school community over the past few days.
This message is NOT a scam. It has been sent from the creator of our school app and website as a reminder to set up the app in order to receive important updates from school. This is the reason that the number it has come from is not the school number itself.
You may have received this message if you previously used our school app for updates but have not signed in since the beginning of the academic year.
Thankyou for bringing this to our attention and hopefully this will clear up the confusion

This morning in school, we held our Harvest assembly where we welcomed parents and friends to come and celebrate with all our pupils. We were delighted that Dr Cubitt and Dr McNie could come along as well as Lizzie Hogg who represented Bushmills Community Fridge to accept the large donation of food stuff on behalf of all our pupils. Our children all performed really well on stage and we are all very proud of you!
We also took the opportunity to say thank you to Mrs Gina Collins, our School Clerical Officer, who will sadly be moving on after the half term break.
Following the assembly, many parents and grandparents were able to stay and join us for a special harvest lunch - we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!
We would like to wish you all a safe and relaxing Half Term break and look forward to seeing you all on 6th November!
Reminder!!
Please be reminded that school will close early this week at 1:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to allow parent -teacher meetings to take place. Please also note there will be NO Extended Schools this week apart from tomorrow (Monday).
Finally school will finish for all on Friday at 1:30pm for our half -term break.

The Book Fair has arrived in school today and will be here for the next week.

Primary 1 & 2 had a wonderful morning finding out about biodiversity, planting seeds and learning about salmon. Thank you very much to The Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub for including us in this project.

๐๐ฆญ๐ชผ Marine Conservation Society ๐ฌ๐ชผ๐ฆ
On Friday 15th September, we had a special visit from Stephen who works for the Marine Conservation Society who delivered workshops to our Key Stage 2 classes as well as a whole school assembly about how we can look after our oceans and their inhabitants. The children really enjoyed talking about the importance of the ocean to them and how we can look after it by limiting the amount of rubbish that enters the seas. It was particularly eye opening to discover the length of time it takes for some everyday items to completely disappear once they are finished with. This was particularly poignant as we are so privileged to live so close to so many wonderful beaches on the North Coast.
We hope to plan our own beach clean in the Spring or Summer term in order to play our part with this important work. Thankyou Stephen for a really enjoyable day.
Only One Day to Go!!!
Here in school we are all looking forward to seeing everyone back this week after what we hope was a relaxing summer break with plenty of rest and fun thrown in!
Just a few reminders for the next few days:
๐ The new term will commence for all pupils (P1- P7) on Wednesday 30th August at 9:00am.
๐ Please be reminded that school will finish on both Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st at 12 noon for all pupils and all are asked to bring their own 'healthy snack' on these days!
๐ Friday 1st September will be a full day when both snack and school dinners will be available (further information will be sent out in due course).
๐ PLEASE NOTE NURSERY CHILDREN will have a staggered start and parents will have already received this information. If you are unsure please do not hesitate to contact the school from tomorrow and we will be more than happy to help.
