ROBERT’S ROUTE 3 💙

Monday 22nd June marks the third anniversary of Robert’s death. Once again, a fundraising motorbike run will be held in his memory. This will take place on Saturday 20th.

For those of you with motorbikes, please come along from 9.30am onwards. Everyone will leave the farmyard at 64a Priestland Road, Bushmills, at 10.30am, head to Armoy, then Ballycastle, and finally to Carnlough.

For everyone else, feel free to come and see the motorbikes leave. Scones and traybakes will be available with tea and coffee so you’re welcome to come earlier for that.

£14,000 for AIR AMBULANCE NI was raised by Robert’s Route 1 and 2. We are humbled by the generosity shown.

Money collected this year will be donated to LIFE BEYOND via Rural Support. The charity provides support for farming families who have experienced loss. Their work through counselling or mentoring support is absolutely vital.

Special thanks to Fred Mc Dowell and Ian Brown, Robert’s uncle, for organising the bike run.

Please share this with family and friends. We would appreciate your support in honour of Robert.

PERFECT PRODUCE…..

Many thanks to Davy Laverty for the much appreciated discount on our meat order. With the beef coming directly from his farm, it couldn’t be much more local. Farm to fork at its very best!

THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS IN THE EATING…..

The pupils’ appetites were soon satisfied. The plates were soon emptied, as they showed full appreciation for the efforts of local farmers. The dishes certainly went down a treat.

HELPING HANDS…..

A word of thanks to Eleanor for preparing such an impressive meat feast for the club members. Her afternoon was busy making sure everything on the menu was cooked to perfection. Little wonder there wasn’t much left over. Sadie and James were delighted their granny had done such a great job.

BRITISH BEEF AT ITS BEST…..

The Agri after-school club celebrated Great British Beef Week by putting meat dishes to the taste test. With Steak Diane, Irish Stew, beef burgers, beef sausages, lasagne, cottage pie, mince tacos and Maud’s famous steak pie on offer, there was something to suit everyone’s taste.

What a wonderful way to showcase local produce.

BE SMART, BE SAFE…..

The KS1 and KS2 pupils came together for the “Water Smart!” safety assembly. The children heard key messages about enjoying visits to the seaside, but doing so safely. A worthwhile assembly perfectly timed, with the sun now making frequent appearances and the temperature rising.
