The last few tickets are available for our lovely wellbeing event at the gorgeous Holly Mount Orchard. We have plenty on offer; yoga practice with The Yoga Process, making willow hanging baskets with Joy of Willow, getting creative with paints with Lucy Berry Art and some delicious, apple based, autumnal camping cooking with Wild Souls. We'll also have hot drinks, sweet treats and soup fresh vegan friendly soup on offer, plenty of blankets and a warm fire. Wild Things & Wild kids starts back on Thursday....please share with anyone who may be interested 💚

Day 3: Today, we noticed that some of our apples have ripened early so we picked some and made campfire apple tart 😋. The children also experimented making natural paints, did rock painting, storytelling, friendship bracelet making, tree climbing and the usual favourites 💚

Day 2: More craft, den building, tool use, fire lighting and learning how to safely extinguish a fire, bouncing, climbing and lots of play. Capture the flag is proving popular but exhausting 😆, so the children taught me and Charlotte how to play Among us 💚

Day 1 of summer camp: full of child-led fun, play and creativity. Plus campfire treats, fire lighting and an epic hour of team games (not easy in this heat!). Looking forward to tomorrow.....please thunder and lightning tonight 🙏 🙏🙏😬💚

Gorgeous day with .net Joy of Willow and Incredible Edible Ramsbottom. Storytelling, nature art and crafts, willow bird feeders, campfire snacks, family yoga and freshly foraged flavoured water. Thank you for braving the heat and sharing this space with us 💚

✨WELLBEING DAY✨

Eeeekkk im super excited about the return of our well-being day! 🍂🔥🌿

“A day for you, in the beautiful Holly Mount Orchard, where we will be getting all cosy as Autumn draws in, taking some time out to relax, be creative, feel connected and be inspired. Suzanne, from The Yoga Process, will guide you through a gentle practice of movement, breath work and relaxation. Lucy, from Lucy Berry Art, will provide all the materials and guidance for you to create your own piece of art. Joy, from Joy of Willow, will help you create beautiful willow structures. Finally, Lisa, from Wild Souls will provide a warming campfire soup, with crusty bread and show you how to bake apple flapjacks over the fire....just as the apples are due to be harvest! There will also be hot drinks and sweet treats on offer.

You will be free to do as much or as little as you want, there will be hammocks and blankets a plenty to entice you into taking some time out to just be. We can't wait to share this beautiful day with you.”

So after a few enquiries today, I thought I'd share a little more about Wild Kids, starting in September, earlier than planned......

Wild kids is a Forest School session for children and young people 5+. These session are for home education families, families that flexi educate and children who are struggling to access mainstream education for whatever reason. We aim to provide a safe, nurturing place where children and young people can explore and discover, connect with other children and young people and connect with nature.

Both Lisa and Charlotte are experienced Forest School Leaders and during these session we will facilitate the children's learning, not dictate it. We value a play based, child led approach and encourage children to explore their surroundings, take responsible risks and celebrate nature. We always have a hot drink with a campfire snack and their is also a hot brew for their grownups if they wish to stay.

Sessions starting at 12:30 pm - 2:00pm. There will be a reduced price per session if you block book, however there is also an option to pay per session at a slightly higher price. What's coming up......

As we draw closer to the end of the school year, I thought I'd do a post letting people what is coming up over the next few months and September 💚

🌿 This Sunday (10th July) we have our Free Family Event at Nuttal Park 10:00-1:00, collaborating with Joy of Willow and Incredible Edible Ramsbottom

🌿 15th, 16th and 17th August, we have our mini Forest Camp at Greenmount Primary School. 9-3, suitable for children aged 4-12

🌿 Wild Things, our outdoor Preschool sessions, starts back on Thursday 8th September 10:00- 11:30 suitable from 18mths to 4 years old. Block booking and pay as you go options available. Holly Mount Orchard

🌿 Wild Kids, starting on the 8th September we will be running an afternoon for children aged 4+ (older preschoolers also welcome). This session is for any child that would enjoy a safe, nurturing, play based forest school style session to explore and connect with others and their environment. 12:30 -2:00. Free Family Event this Sunday at Nuttal Park. Our theme this time is birds 🐦 we look forward to seeing you all there 💚

What's your flavour??? Our wild things had tones of fun making mud ice creams 🍦 this morning 😋. They were also very into snipping last week so we delved into that more this week with some beautifully scented herbs. We noticed the trolls have been back as they've left their ears again!! And we observed slugs very closely today, this one had a tiger like print along the bottom 😍

Friday forest school shenanigans. The morning children experimented with making natural pigments to paint with. The afternoon gang got creative making things out sticks, including a guitar 🎸 💚

Lovely day celebrating the summer solstice. We made crowns and wands, climbed trees, hung out in hammocks, whittled, made fires, fully embracing summer and the opportunities it brings. We also found this really cool bug, any ideas???? 💚☀️💚☀️💚☀️

These little birds explored the world of our feathered friends through breath, movement and relaxation. The made these lovely stick birds, inspired from webekids.net free online resources 💚

Dreamy morning in the orchard today, our wild things got stuck in and did their thing as always, such an inspiring bunch of kiddies.💚

Really sad to find that our lovely compost toilet has been vandalised and the beautiful grade 2 listed stain glass window smashed. More funds to be spent on repairs rather than conservation. 😔

Great pictures from today's family event 💚

Beautiful morning colour hunting with our Wild Things. We used colour wheels to hunt for colour in the orchard, then brought a little back to see if we could transfer the colour with hammers. We've also had a great time swinging, digging, building towers, bug hunting, hiding, chasing cats and splashing in a mud/water play area.

Its all about the wildflowers at wild things at the moment. Last week we noticed the blue bells appearing, so we had a go at making some this week, although it turns out its much more fun to paint ourselves! We also made daisy chains, mud soup, towers, hung out in the orchard in hammocks and bounced away on the slack line, lovely morning 💚

Lovely time on Tuesday watching the kids get creative. They wanted a stick day, so we brought a heap of sticks and let their imagination run wild. The older kids also gave campfire cooking a whirl, making campfire calzone 🍕💚

Day 4. Our last day today and what a belter! All the good stuff, including that massive hot thing in the sky making an appearance AND sticking around 🌞 Rounded off with a game of capture the flag 👌 Super week, amazing kids, brilliant staff. Thank you all, it has been a blast 💚

Day 3.... it was hot!!!! Great day today with bucket loads of free play, mud play, team game, pop corn, nature crafts to name but a few. More nice weather tomorrow please 🙏💚

Day 2....very soggy! So we had a day of making, we made fires, dens, campfire calzone, hamsters, mallets, swords, s'mores, magnetic sticks, mud balls (for battles) and a whole heap more. When it dried up we played camouflage, base and ninja squirrels. Well done team Tuesday, you certainly didn't let the rain stop you 💚

Day 1 of Forest Camp and I'm already shattered 😆. Fires, jewellery making, spear making (including arrow heads), den building, mud kitchen play, epic mud battles and many many games played today. Let's see what tomorrow brings 😊💚
