One of my students was struggling with using tracing paper to find the centre of a 90 degree rotation. I came up with this method as an alternative.

Draw the black line to connect a matching pair vertices (corners).
Find its midpoint.
Draw the circle with centre the midpoint, through the vertices.
Draw a line perpendicular (at right angles) to the black line.
This last line meets the circle at the centre of the rotation.
