📸 VR Workshop with Transport for Greater Manchester 🚍🥽

Recently, our students took part in an engaging virtual reality workshop delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester.

It was an engaging and thought-provoking Virtual Reality session focused on peer pressure and anti-social behaviour on public transport.

Using VR headsets, students were able to experience realistic scenarios, helping them understand the legal consequences of anti-social behaviour and the impact these actions can have on people's mental health and wellbeing.

The session also explored positive ways to respond to peer pressure, make safe choices, and seek support when needed.

A huge thank you to Transport for Greater Manchester for providing this valuable learning opportunity for our students.

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of another amazing school year! 🐧

Our whole school enjoyed a wonderful trip to Blackpool Zoo, where pupils had the opportunity to explore, learn about wildlife from around the world, and create lasting memories with their friends and staff. It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and discovery.

A huge thank you to our staff for making the day so special and to our pupils for representing the school so brilliantly.

📚✨ Celebrating All Things Reading! ✨📚

Reading continues to thrive at Brookhaven, with Percy Jackson remaining one of our students’ favourite book series. To celebrate their enthusiasm for reading, and in recognition of author Rick Riordan’s American heritage, our librarians created a special 4th July display.

This was also a fantastic opportunity to share some exciting library developments across the school, including the appointment of our new Student Librarian role and our Welcome to July focus, celebrating Independence Day and the work of an inspiring American author.

Our library has been recently updated thanks to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. A huge thank you to our students and staff for their commitment to developing our library, and to our families for their generous book donations.

A special thank you to Marianne, who has worked tirelessly to ensure we have a safe and nurturing space to develop our love of reading.

Food Technology in Action! 🛒

As part of their Food Technology lessons, students have been independently planning and sourcing the ingredients for meals they will be cooking next week. During an off-site shopping trip, students had the opportunity to select the items they needed, and some were even able to use the till themselves, helping to develop their confidence, money management and independent living skills. We can't wait to see the finished dishes! 🌟

🌟 Brookhaven Students Shine at Greater Manchester SEND Sports Day! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud of our students who recently attended the SEND Sports Day at the Etihad Stadium 🏟️

It was a fantastic day filled with energy, teamwork, and smiles all around. Our students had a brilliant time taking part in a range of activities, showing great enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout 💙

A special mention goes to our older students who stepped up to volunteer—an amazing opportunity for them to gain valuable experience, build confidence, and support others. We couldn't be prouder of their commitment and maturity
