As part of their 'Sustainability' unit in Geography, our Year 6 children have been interviewing children and staff about how sustainable we are as a school and to gather ideas about other steps we could take to improve our carbon footprint. In addition, the children conducted a local litter pick to improve our surroundings and emphasise the importance of everyone 'doing their bit' to look after our environment.

Special thanks to our friends at Holcombe Brook Tennis Club who provided free tennis lessons to our Y3 and Y5 children and hosted a tennis competition for a selection of our budding tennis stars. Our children loved the sessions, thank you coach Tom.

Thank you to all our wonderful staff, not just today on 'Thank A Teacher Day' but every day. Our appreciation extends to every single staff ember that makes our school a special place to work and most importantly, a special place for children - thank you all.

We also took the opportunity this morning here at Old Hall to make a very special presentation to our very own Mrs Robinson. Mrs Robinson was nominated for a National Pearson Teaching award in the category of 'Unsung Hero' unbeknown to her. Today we were delighted to present her with her bronze certificate, a lovely bouquet of flowers and a special letter from the President of the Pearson National Teaching Awards, Michael Murpurgo - thank you Mrs Robinson.
