The nursery children have had great fun building new friendships and continuing to explore all the areas and activities both inside and out in Adventure Island. We are very proud of them all as they have settled really well ๐Ÿ˜Š
In Nursery this week we loved our Book of the Week, โ€˜Goldilocks and the Three Bearsโ€™. We used the puppets to retell the story. We built a house for the bears outside and even made carpets! In the mud kitchen, we mixed and stirred as we cooked porridge for the bears. We talked about sizes and were very good at matching objects by size. ๐Ÿป๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿปโ€โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ง
Year 4 have been identifying the basic parts of a simple circuit. They can recognise what each symbol represents and the job of each component.
Year three have been learning about balanced meals this week in Science. Next week we will be looking at different nutrients and carrying out and investigation about sugar content. Please send your child into school with a small empty bottle of drink. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
Y2 have been learning about Judaism today ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•Žโœก๏ธ
Year 1

Some phonics activities have been sent out today. They are what we have been focussing on this week. There is a reading activity and a writing activity. Have a go at home ๐Ÿ˜Š try to encourage your child to do it independently.

Please return by Wednesday each week.

Thank you,
Mrs Rolling ๐Ÿ˜Š

School Council

We had an absolutely amazing afternoon meeting Madam Mayor!
We asked lots of questions and even got a chance to sit in her chair and try on some of the attire a mayor would wear.
We even sparked up a debate!
Weโ€™ve been invited back to join a council meeting and have a further debate so we canโ€™t wait to look into this further!

Thank you for such a warm welcome. We had a great time!

Please note scarlet fever symptoms from the Health Protection Team:

Symptoms vary but in severe cases there may be high fever, difficulty swallowing and tender enlarged lymph nodes. The rash develops on the first day of fever, it is red, generalised, pinhead in size and gives the skin a sandpaper-like texture and the tongue has a strawberry-like appearance.

The scarlet fever rash may be confused with measles. The fever lasts 24 to 48 hours. Scarlet fever is usually a mild illness but is rarely complicated by ear infections, rheumatic fever which affects the heart, and kidney problems.

Scarlet fever is highly infectious and is spread by close contact with someone carrying the bacteria. The incubation period is 2 to 5 days.

Year 1

In R.E. we have been learning about Judaism. We made a challah loaf together. Mrs Rolling said the blessing for the bread and we tried it. We made links to Christianity in the story of creation and saying prayers before eating the bread in Holy Communion.

Our new school prayer created by our wonderful children:

When we talk to God above, we say these words so full of love.

Help us be truthful, be loyal, not lie,
It may well be tricky but we all have to try.

And if we feel wronged not heard or feel cheated,
Let us treat others how we want to be treated.

Give us compassion for all of our friends,
Our caring for each of them will never end.

We hope for forgiveness for all we do wrong,
In actions and prayers and in joyful song.

Our St Peterโ€™s community together again,
Our school, our church, our family,

Amen.

Please note another safeguarding incident this morning approx. 8.30am on Parr Lane near the Mersey Drive junction. Three men in a black Mercedes asked a student to get in the car and give them her phone. The student walked quickly away and came straight to school. It has been reported to the police.
