We had an absolutely amazing afternoon meeting Madam Mayor!
We asked lots of questions and even got a chance to sit in her chair and try on some of the attire a mayor would wear.
We even sparked up a debate!
Weโve been invited back to join a council meeting and have a further debate so we canโt wait to look into this further!
Thank you for such a warm welcome. We had a great time!

Please note scarlet fever symptoms from the Health Protection Team:
Symptoms vary but in severe cases there may be high fever, difficulty swallowing and tender enlarged lymph nodes. The rash develops on the first day of fever, it is red, generalised, pinhead in size and gives the skin a sandpaper-like texture and the tongue has a strawberry-like appearance.
The scarlet fever rash may be confused with measles. The fever lasts 24 to 48 hours. Scarlet fever is usually a mild illness but is rarely complicated by ear infections, rheumatic fever which affects the heart, and kidney problems.
Scarlet fever is highly infectious and is spread by close contact with someone carrying the bacteria. The incubation period is 2 to 5 days.
Nursery children have been learning all about the very first Christmas this week. They retold the nativity story with the characters as well as creating the stable scene and singing our Nativity songs ๐ฅฐ

In R.E. we have been learning about Judaism. We made a challah loaf together. Mrs Rolling said the blessing for the bread and we tried it. We made links to Christianity in the story of creation and saying prayers before eating the bread in Holy Communion.
Our new school prayer created by our wonderful children:
When we talk to God above, we say these words so full of love.
Help us be truthful, be loyal, not lie,
It may well be tricky but we all have to try.
And if we feel wronged not heard or feel cheated,
Let us treat others how we want to be treated.
Give us compassion for all of our friends,
Our caring for each of them will never end.
We hope for forgiveness for all we do wrong,
In actions and prayers and in joyful song.
Our St Peterโs community together again,
Our school, our church, our family,
Amen.
A fantastic day yesterday with Paul the poet and creating some incredible art work to be displayed in our hall on our Christian values. Check out some of the photos on our website:
