We keep all of our Beginners sessions as live as possible.
This means working with a training partner who is actively trying to defend whatever you are trying to do to them.
This is truly the only way you develop real ‘martial’ or combat skill.
Padwork and bagwork probably have their place as you progress and become a more experienced martial artist.
But in the early stages, you need to build general understanding and context about how a fight really feels.
We do this quickly and safely by limiting certain factors such as power, intensity and the number of ‘tools’ you have to work with.
This way we speed up the learning process and whilst managing stress and reducing injury potential.
And before you know it, punches and kicks flying your way ain’t nothin but a thang, you feel way more comfortable in the chaos, you can actually fight.
