Run Club Success: Sam 🖤
Sam joined Fortify Run Club in June and has quickly become a brilliant part of our community.
Having already achieved plenty in the sport, Sam had fallen out of love with running. He joined FRC looking for somewhere he could enjoy it again, away from the grind of solo training and sessions.
Since joining, he’s spoken about how much he values the inclusivity, the support and the lack of elitism. For us, one thing he said really sums up what we’re trying to build:
“When we win, we all win together.”
It’s not just about paces, times or podiums. It’s about creating a community where everyone feels welcome, where we celebrate each other’s achievements and where people leave feeling positive about what we’re doing.
That’s something Sam has helped us achieve himself. Whether it’s inspiring others through his own dedication and performances, or bringing along friends and family who leave with the same positive impression, he’s helping us reach even more people.
And the results speak for themselves. Sam has raced three half marathons in four weeks, with some brilliant performances along the way:
🥉 Ipswich Half Marathon: 3rd place
⏱️ Great Eastern Run: PB of 1:09
🥈 Bury St Edmunds Half Marathon: 2nd place in Fortify colours
But for us, the biggest win is knowing he’s fallen back in love with running.
As Sam put it, “a happy runner is a fast runner, right?” 😁
