Meeting the Needs of the Modern Learner
As digital training and development providers, we are constantly considering the evolving needs of our learners and how we can best adapt our products and services to meet these. The impact of the past 2-years has certainly created new realities in learners’ jobs, behaviours, habits and preferences and these now appear to be driving even more rapid changes and demands in the way that information is accessed and training is delivered compared to just a few years ago.
Whilst our professional training partners are glad to be returning to face-to-face interventions, flexible, hybrid working agendas have hugely influenced the needs of the modern learner. Many organisations now seem to be looking beyond traditional training and development channels to an enhanced digital learning strategy that will enable maximisation of productivity, reduce burnout, increase engagement, and improve knowledge retention.
To further increase the pressure on digital learning providers to deliver required outcomes for their clients, a recent survey by Deloitte indicates that today’s employees are increasingly overwhelmed, distracted and impatient in their roles, and suggests that just 1% of an average work week (24 minutes) is now all that they have to focus on their training and development.
So what we know is that digital learning needs to be bite-sized and easily accessible, but what else? Recent research carried out by Access People, has highlighted further important trends in digital learning preferences:
69% of people prefer watching a video over any other form of learning content,
80% of organisations report having a competitive edge using courses involving SME-led development,
67% of learners now access their learning through a mobile device,
8% is the reduction in churn that organisations have reported when using professionally accredited eLearning.
At eAlliance Learning Technology we are not only taking on board the needs of the modern learner through the new and updated content of our courses, but also by addressing both industry specific training and development requirements, as well as those of all businesses across all sectors with ready-made courses and online learning resources.
We are also working with education and training providers and businesses to create programmes and pathways of customised online learning resource to meet specific, on-demand training requirements and support blended learning strategies, qualification delivery and professional development.

A new suite of courses tackling mental health in the workplace

The global pandemic has put mental health and wellbeing into sharp focus. Our people are our strongest asset and looking after them is more important now than ever before. However, although many people want to be able to support others, they often do not know how.

Our new Mental Health Awareness suite has been written by a professional psychotherapist and includes a range of short eLearning courses with practical advice and reflective exercises, real life case studies, supporting videos and factsheets to provide people with all the information they need to understand mental health and provide support for others.

The modules of the Mental Health Awareness suite are:

Introduction to mental health
Let’s talk about mental health
Recognising and managing anxiety
How to support yourself and others with mental health
Tackling mental health stigmas and discrimination

The five modules can also be collated in to a pathway to create a ‘Mental Health for Managers’ programme, providing leaders and managers with a practical foundation in mental health.

In addition to the core learning resources in this suite, there are also a series of videos designed to provide practical support that can be accessed outside of the main course programme. These can be used at any time by those looking for mental health support, or those creating a wellbeing campaign, and include:

Grounding Technique
Breathing Exercise
Guided Visualisation
Mindfulness Exercise
Exercise Micro Workout

All modules are available to access remotely, on your eAlliance learning portal or via your own organisational LMS.
