Creative Education Centre Suffolk Creative Education for primary aged children aged 5 - 11. Opened Bury St Edmunds, September 2014.

At the Creative Education Centre we offer:

• informal and personal learning for children aged 5 to 11

• Montessori teaching methods

• a caring, small-scale and mixed age environment

• relaxed, low pressure and creative approaches to learning

• an emphasis on the outdoors and natural environment

• part-time education

• flexibility in the days attended


We believe that:

• education begins w

ith healthy relationships amongst pupils and adults

• the skills and knowledge that children learn at this age are vital

• children need independence in their learning in order to take its ownership

• following the child’s interests is more important than following a prescriptive curriculum

• a creative stimulus for learning will motivate children's independent enquiry and exploration

• laying the foundations of enjoying the wonders of nature in childhood will help them to be inspired for life

• learning must be made active in order to engage children because children learn through their hands as well as their eyes and ears
