🎉🌈 WE’VE HAD OUR FIRST OFSTED INSPECTION! 🌈🎉
We are absolutely delighted to share the outcome of our very first Ofsted inspection at Cheerful Champs – St Mary’s, Mildenhall! 💛💙
As a relatively new setting, having Ofsted come through the doors is a BIG moment – and I am incredibly proud of what they saw.
✅ Safeguarding standards MET
✅ Expected Standard across all areas inspected
✅ Compulsory Childcare Register requirements MET
✅ Voluntary Childcare Register requirements MET
But for us, the most special part of the report isn't just the outcome – it's what Ofsted said about our children and their experience at Cheerful Champs. 🥹
🌟 “Children arrive eagerly”
🌟 Children “settle well and enjoy the engaging and well-resourced activities.”
🌟 Children show that they have positive relationships with staff and other children.
🌟 Our children demonstrate positive attitudes to learning and children of different ages help one another.
🌟 Children show kindness towards each other and develop their social skills.
🌟 Children feel a sense of belonging and feel safe.
🌟 Children with SEND and those who face barriers to learning or wellbeing are supported effectively.
Ofsted also recognised the huge importance we place on children's wellbeing, noting that:
💛 “Leaders prioritise children's welfare and wellbeing.”
They highlighted our wide range of activities, the reassurance and praise given by staff, our inclusive approach, and the way we adapt activities around children's needs, likes and dislikes.
And something that made me particularly proud...
Parents told Ofsted that their children settle quickly, enjoy attending and are always keen to talk about what they have done or brought home. 🥰
THAT is what Cheerful Champs is all about.
Creating somewhere children don't just attend during the school holidays, but somewhere they want to be. Somewhere they feel safe, included and valued. Somewhere they can make friends, try new things, be creative, get active, build their independence and, most importantly, have fun being children. 🌈
Of course, Ofsted has given us some next steps too – and we will absolutely embrace them. Cheerful Champs has grown enormously since we opened and we will keep learning, developing and making our provision even better.
