With regret we have to inform our North American friends and customers that we currently have to decline all orders from the United States. This is due to the current US administration cancelling the “de minimis” exemption (tariff free import for values under 800$) from one day to the next without any warning.
From today all imports into the USA are subject to import tariffs, regardless of their value. These tariffs have to be paid at the point of sale (i. e. by us when we take your orders to the post office).
On top of the tariffs we also have to pay an administration fee and “landed costs”. These additional cost take away so much of our profit that we have to stop selling to the US immediately.
Just to give you an example: for goods produced in Germany worth £46 we paid £6.90 duty, £1.50 admin fees, and £2.29 landed costs. That’s a total of £10.69 additional costs, more than 23% of the order value!
Once we have figured out how these tariffs and fees are calculated, we will be able to charge our US customers the appropriate amount and will resume sales to the USA.
