This brand new workshop is coming to the 📍FORNHAM ALL SAINTS EAT|DRINK|GOOD TIMES ✨️ on Saturday 17th October.

🌱 New For Grow For Schools 🌱

Grow For Schools is continuing for a 3rd year with Baby Bio plant food sponsoring the plant care kits and Ivyline GB | Fresh Inspiration sponsoring the decorative pots.

For the first 2 years, only schools in Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury could be nominated, simply because of locations that are easy for the plants to be delivered to.

However, from September 2026 🌱ALL SUFFOLK SCHOOLS🌱 can be entered into the draw to win free plants for their wellbeing or pastoral rooms.

What to do next:

🌱 Read the attached for more info
🌱 Tag your Suffolk schools to let them know
🌱 Start nominating your Suffolk schools from beginning of September
🌱 Follow Chantal on Instagram and Facebook for monthly updates

Free plants anyone? 🌱

Propagating Snake plants are easy and satisfying but it requires patience!

I always recommend taking more than one cutting too, just incase the propagation doesn’t work.

🌱 Use clean, sharp scissors
🌱 Cut a healthy stem
🌱 Let the cut heal
🌱 Pop the stem in water
🌱 Change the water and wash the vase every couple of weeks
🌱 Wait for roots to grow
🌱 Plant in fresh soil and enjoy your new plant

In this fun workshop, you’ll create a metal plant hanger, choose your favourite plant and pot, mix your own soils and plant your new plant.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a brand new plant in a beautiful new plant hanger to take home.

I’ve had a bit of bad luck with my Dieffenbachia - purely because of old soil and me not repotting it soon enough.

I love an experiment and I enjoy planting with LECA so let’s see how this semi-hydro experiment goes.

The winning school for July ‘Grow For Schools’ is…

Stanton Primary will receive 5 plants to place in their wellbeing or pastoral room for pupils and staff to enjoy. All plants include a care card and tips on watering, best light conditions and general care.

Kokedama (or Japanese moss balls) are a great way to learn something new, connect to nature, get your hands dirty and have fun!

Making these remind me of my upbringing in South Africa…hands cover in mud, making mud cakes 🌱

I loved running a team building terrarium making workshop for a team of 35 employees today.

It’s an opportunity to connect to nature, learn a new skill, smell earthy soil and connect with colleagues. Best part is that you create your own terrarium to take home.
