💙❤️🩷A little reminder as they take their next step…🩷❤️💙
Over the next week, lots of little ones will be heading back to their settings after the summer holidays, starting a new class, moving rooms, starting school or even going somewhere completely new for the first time. 💕
Whatever their next step looks like, I just wanted to say that all those big feelings are okay.
Going back after a lovely, long break can feel strange. Routines have changed, the days have been different and suddenly it's time to get back into the swing of things. Add in new faces, new surroundings, new routines or a new class, and it can all feel a little overwhelming. 🥹
Some children may find the goodbye really hard. Others may happily walk through the door and seem absolutely fine, only for those emotions to come out later when they are safely home with the people they trust most. ❤️
Sometimes our little ones are just holding it together while they're there. They've had a whole day of taking things in, being brave, listening, joining in and finding their feet. Then they get home, feel safe and those emotions come pouring out.
So if your little one is extra tired, emotional, clingy or just not quite themselves over the next few days, please don't worry. They may simply need a little more patience, cuddles, reassurance and time to unwind. 🫶
And to all the parents and carers too — it's okay if you find this time emotional. Watching your little one take another step towards growing up isn't always easy. ❤️
Whether it's their first day, their first day back after the holidays, or simply another new chapter, I hope they know just how proud their grown-ups are of them.
Big changes can bring big feelings, and that's perfectly okay. 🌱
Be gentle with yourselves and your little ones over the next few weeks. They are all finding their feet again in their own time. 💕
