Well if it’s good enough for Heather Graham…!!

Whilst I’m not particularly invested in beauty therapies I am definitely of the opinion that inner wellbeing shines through and how we feel inside absolutely affects how we appear to the outside World ~ when we feel well we look well.

Heather Graham says that CST is 'The Underrated Treatment She Swears By'.
The secret is getting out!

The spring maiden who gently rests outside the door to my studio is everso tentatively awakening, enjoying the rays of sun as they kiss the earth and her gently greening skin. A soft ray of optimism after a long, dark and wet winter. Surrounding her are flowers of hope, crocuses and daffodils, japonicas and rue. Snowdrops gently ti**le their white bells and glint from the bankside. Blossom is starting to open and I too feel like these brave first flowers, turning my face with delight towards the sun and letting a more unfurled version life awaken once more.

Yes please to more energy, yes please to more movement, yes please to sublime sensations of sunlight on foreheads and scents of spring flowers.

Inside the studio the rays of light on the ceiling and the long shadows cast from the giant leaves of my monstera are superbly beautiful. The fires is stil lit and gently cackling away to soften the chill in the air and a kettle of herbal tea is brewing. Come make yourself comfortable in here, it says. We can still be cosy.

How are you connecting with Spring, what’s asking from within you to be seen and held and tended? What beauty are you nurturing? What are you yearning to embody more?

Sending optimism and joy

Tinnitus can be really challenging to live with. It can feel crunchy, whooshy, buzzy, hummy, sharp or dull. It can have you feeling like you’re going crazy but relief is out there. Working not only with what’s going on around the apparatus of hearing but also attending to the whole interconnected structures of the cranium and the dural membranes, easing tension patterns around the jaw, balancing out the relationships between the head, neck shoulders and chest and also supporting the nervous system to help down-regulate can all have a massive positive impact on how sufferers experience themselves.

If you’ve been down your primary healthcare route and been told there’s nothing structurally wrong, but still need more support, consider trying Craniosacral therapy or TMJ release. It’s gentle, non invasive and can really help with resourcing from the tiredness and overwhelm that having tinnitus can lead to.

Tinnitus can be a lonely struggle causing stress, anxiety, worry, depression, physical tension and sleepless nights. Sending love and peace to anyone affected by this condition. You are not alone in experiencing this, however lonely it feels.

Do you find that increased stress and tension is leading to pain around your face and jaw? Perhaps when you open your mouth it’s started to click or pop strangely. Maybe you’re becoming increasingly aware that you’re grinding your teeth at night without even meaning to. But perhaps that’s not even the case, symptoms of TMJ disorder can come from a host of other places as well.

Do you find yourself getting more headaches? Perhaps you’re experiencing eye pain, squinting or excess watering of your eyes. Maybe you’ve noticed in the background that hissing, cracking tinnitus is creeping in or you’re feeling increasingly tired and sore around your neck and shoulders? It may be that the temporomandibular joint and its associated muscular skeletal relationships are holding a little more tension than they need to.

In my relaxing countryside studio I offer TMJ release - a very gentle practice with its foundation supported by biodynamic craniosacral therapy. The jaw does not exist in isolation and so it’s important to work with whole body dynamics which include your head, neck, shoulders upper back and chest. Softly beginning with gentle manual release around these areas before moving to the mouth itself and I work slowly, respecting your edges. Never causing pain like some other forms of buccal massage. When it comes to working inside the mouth I encourage you to breathe, relax and take things at your own pace whilst I slowly release pockets of tension around your cheeks and tongue to help restore feelings of spaciousness, ease, range of motion and maybe even releases of stored emotions that have been dormant in this area.

Receivers often report feeling much lighter after receiving, with increased visual range and clarity, a noticeable ease of opening their mouth and a feeling of the joint ‘coming home’ Into its socket. Sinuses feel clearer and less blocked. Broader sensations of lightness in the chest and shoulders, sometimes even feeling taller when they stand up and easier to turn the head and take a full, deep breath.

Going beyond the obvious there can also be significant reduction in hip and lower back pain as the temporomandibular joints and the hip joints are deeply resonant. It can feel lighter when walking and easier to take bigger strides. People find that it becomes smoother when swallowing, like they’ve lost the lump that had been unknowingly building in their throat. Others find that the quality of their sleep massively improves or even that their ability to speak up for themselves becomes more available.

These are the benefits of working holistically, working within the range of tolerance and safety and working slowly. If any of this speaks to you, please feel free to reach out to ask more or you can make an appointment through my website portal.

Suffolk has been blessed with an abundant covering of snow these past two days. It’s taking much longer than usual to warm the studio up from sub-zero but my practice is open, there’s a pot of tea on the stove and a nurturing space is here waiting for you to rest, receive and deepen into your winter dreaming. Travel safely out there my dears x

This is such a wonderful offering of information about your connective tissue, your facia, your huge sensory organ that wraps and connects every muscle, bone, organ and vessel. It is a massive network with incredible intelligence, sensitivity and implication to our overall body mechanics as well as our deep seated sense of self.

All touch engages the fascia, even light touch like craniosacral therapy.

If you’d like to invite more health and self knowing through a gentle somatic therapy then do get in touch.

I’m looking forward to going to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks time to facilitate seminar five, looking at the story of birth (we all have one!) meeting and integrating the many ignitions that happen, as portals to our potency and deep resources of life-force and inner embodied agency. Our bodies are amazing.

In the fifth seminar, one of the topics explored is ignitions — a crucial concept in prenatal and birth-related work. Craniosacral therapists learn how to recognize and work with these profound imprints.

🌀 Ignitions – Embodied Imprints from the Beginning of Life. Throughout the human body, several key ignitions occur — initiatory moments that activate our core life functions. These moments shape not only our biology but also our deep sense of self. Some examples include:

🔹 Ignition in the third ventricle of the brain – Here, the first movement and rhythmic intelligence of the embryo are activated. It marks the beginning of embodiment and structural formation.
🔹 Ignition with the first heartbeat – The heart’s rhythm begins organizing blood flow and brings deeper layers of perceived safety and connection.
🔹 Umbilical ignition at birth – The flow through the umbilical cord ends, and the baby’s own circulation is activated.
🔹 Pulmonary ignition – The first breath opens the body to a new rhythm of life outside the womb.

These moments often occur under dramatic circumstances — rapid birth, medical interventions, separation from the mother, or respiratory stimulation. Such experiences can leave imprints in the body in the form of tension, difficulties with regulation, feelings of disconnection, or a sense of deep inner pressure.

💆‍♀️ Biodynamic craniosacral therapy allows these imprints to be gently and safely revisited. By listening to the body's rhythms and creating a supportive field, the body can rediscover its own pathway toward integration. The ignition sites — the third ventricle, heart, umbilicus, and lungs — may reopen in their own natural rhythm, without pressure, in harmony with what is currently possible.
