Lovely weather for frogs tonight...

Last month we made a miniature wildlife pond using a washing up bowl, gravel and stones. It very quickly had a flurry of viewings from prospective inhabitants, including one thirsty dog!

Lots of gorgeous Orange tip butterflies out this morning. The males are unmistakable; white with bright orange wing tips...

Lots of gorgeous Orange tip butterflies out this morning. The males are unmistakable; white with bright orange wing tips. The females however are less showy and are white with grey/black wing tips (Typical!) Both do have very distinctive mottled green underwings. They love garlic mustard (the white flower shown) and will lay a single egg just beneath the flowerhead (the caterpillars are cannabilistic).
