Humpty Dumpty Day Nursery and Pre-School Yoxall

Lat week our Penguins celebrated Tiger Appreciation Day with some fantastic tiger-inspired artwork! The children used our toy tigers as inspiration and carefully created their very best paintings, looking closely at the colours, stripes and shapes.

Last week, our Penguins were busy baking delicious banana cupcakes! The children enjoyed mashing, mixing and measuring the ingredients, using their senses to explore the different tea tyres and smells.

Our Kingfishers enjoyed exploring construction play, using different tools to build towers and houses. They showed great concentration as they worked out how to stack, balance and join materials together.

Some lovely calming play with lavender rice last week. The children enjoyed exploring the soothing scent and get,e texture, scooping, pouring and running the rice through their fingers.

What better way to celebrate Spain winning the World Cup this week than with some colourful jelly and spaghetti sensory play! The children had lots of fun exploring the different textures, colours and smells using their hands to scoop, squeeze and mix.

To celebrate international Moon day this week or preschoolers created their own moon pictures using tin foil and paint. The children explored the different textures of the foil as they stamped it onto the card, creating crater-like patterns and marks.

As part of Shark Awareness Day, our preschoolers enjoyed using peg sharks to catch their shoe fish. This fun activity encouraged the children to recognise and name different shapes while also developing their fine motor skills as they opened and closed the pegs to ‘snap’ up the fish.

Our Preschoolers have been learning about oral hygiene and why it’s important to look after their teeth. They explored different ways they can support healthy teeth, such as brushing twice a day, using toothpaste, visiting the dentist and making healthy food and drink choices. We also talked about what can happen if we do not clean our teeth properly, including plaque build up, tooth decay and cavities. The children enjoyed learning how small daily routines can help keep their smiles healthy and strong.

A huge well done again to our little legends in Preschool on their graduation! It has been such a privilege to be part of your lives during your time with us. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see all, the amazing things you go on to do.

Last week our penguins celebrated the 4th of July by creating some fantastic firework paintings! The children had lots of fun exploring brights colours and making their sparkly, colourful designs.
