Little Chicks Childcare

Sarah is off to Disney Florida for a family wedding this weekend. She has been planning and prepping for weeks plus helping us prep here for a busy time without her. Have an amazing time Sar! We'll all miss you and the children are looking forward to seeing your photos with their favourite disney characters. Have a well earned break or try to as it may not be the most restful holiday you'll ever have! # # #

This terms project is 'People Who Help Us' and today we visited our local Co-op with a shopping list and very excited children.

Julie was fantastic and accommodated 9 little people with individual purchases and real money.

They learned that similar foods are grouped together, named the foodstuffs we found, discovered the price of each and helped to count out the money where possible.

They each got a receipt which they were very proud of. They learned new language and we discussed the things we had seen and done in circle time when we got home.

Luckily the shop was quiet but the two ladies who came in mid purchase were very patient so thank you too.

Earth Day. Our little explorers went on a fabulous adventure this morning collecting treasures to play with this afternoon. They loved exploring the woods and fields by the river, picking wild flowers, sticks, dandelions, grasses and mini beasts to bring home which we turned in to a tuff tray activity.

Happy Birthday to dear Sarah for tomorrow. Thank you for being an awesome big chick, second momma to so many and for being 'bad' cop when you are so fantastic and popular with the children because you are fair, firm but most of all great fun and an awesome storyteller. Have a great day!! # # #

Be kind to us week guys as two big chicks are in Australia to see daughter/sister Jess for the first time in 14 months. Jess had no idea they were coming so it was a very emotional reunion this morning!

Keith the kangaroo has gone with them and will be back after Easter with lots of adventures to tell the children about. Hopefully he'll bring the girls with him.

Have a fabulous time George and Soph!! We miss you already! 😂🤣🥰🥰.

Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful Mums who amaze us every day. Thank you for letting be surrogate 'mums' to your gorgeous children. We hope that you have a peaceful, happy, love filled time with your beautiful families today.

World Book Day.

We couldn't find any of our children today so instead looked after 2 Gruffalos, 2 Hungry Little Caterpillars, 2 Fairies, a Giraffe, a Dragon, Paddington Bear, and Spiderman.

The children have had such a lovely day sharing stories, teddies and afternoon tea.

Many thanks to our parents for taking the time to sort the costumes out.

The sun came out today so we could celebrate Holi in style with lots of paint and colour. Very happy children free to express themselves and make a huge mess. Aprons on throughout but industrial strength bubble bath may be needed later!

Morning snack time looks a bit different this week as we celebrate Chinese new year, The year of the horse. Egg noodles with chopped vegetables. Healthy and fun especially with chopsticks. Toddlers can use them very effectively and they are great for those developing pincer skills.
