Autumn soup made today by our children using coloured water, petals, leaves, mini beasts, herbs and scents. An array of tools used to hone those fine motor skills and strengthen little fingers.

The themes for this term are harvest, sustainability, woodland creatures and autumn. Today's story has been Owl Babies so we decided to feed some babies of our own. We made a tuff tray of foliage, mini beasts, baby owls and pasta worms and caterpillars. The children loved feeding (posting) their babies food with different tools, strengthening hand muscles, improving dexerity and the coordination needed to hold and control writing implements later.

We have a swarm of bees again temporarily at the Audley Close end of our hedge. They will leave in a few days but just be aware as you approach the house. This happens every year and they have never bothered anyone before.

A very happy 21st birthday to our gorgeous Sophie! Pilates queen and baby whisperer. Sophie loves a birthday, especially her own and has lots of great plans to celebrate and quite rightly so. We will join you on Saturday Soph but in the meantime have lots of fun. Lots of love from Shaz, Momma, Sarah, Kay, Sal, Nikki, Sian and Sue. ###

The end of an era! The legend that is Nikki Burns is (trying to) retire!! Argh!! We are going to celebrate properly with the team with gifts at a later date but I couldn't let the end of term go without beginning to say THANK YOU!

Nikki has been an incredible support to Little Chicks for many years and to me also on a personal basis. The person offsite I could go to when spanners were thrown by circumstances we had no control over and I needed a rock to help solve them with me.

There were so many not only financial, but legal and how many Ofsteds??!! We worked through them all and always found a way. We were an incredible team.

Her very big boots are now being filled by my lovely daughter Sian and she is doing a fantastic job so far, having been taught by the expert.

One of the many difficulties Nikki had to deal with was deciphering my terrible handwriting. Sorry Nikki!!

We all love you. Shaz, Kay, George, Sarah, Sophie, Sally and Sian ###
