🧸⚽ Buster Bear made it to the World Cup Final! ⚽🧸

After an incredible sponsored event and a final total of £793, Buster has officially made it all the way to the World Cup Final between Argentina and Spain! 🇦🇷🇪🇸

Our original goal was £380, but thanks to the amazing support of our children, families and friends, we raised more than double our target — enough to get Buster there and home again too! ✈️🏟️

We are so proud of everyone who took part, completed challenges, collected sponsors and cheered Buster on throughout his journey.

A huge thank you to our wonderful preschool community for making this such a special and memorable event. ❤️

The Pre-School staff have loved meeting all of our new families that will join us in September and welcoming all of the new starters over this last term too!

On 22nd September we will hold our AGM and we’d love to welcome all parents, carers and wider family members to join us. We are a very small committee and we desperately need new members as a number of our long-standing ones leave us.

Please feel free to contact us for more information but for now, we’d like to say a big goodbye and good luck to our wonderful leavers and a MASSIVE thank you to all of our fantastic staff (including another good luck to Miss Gordon who moves on to pastures new).

This has been about so much more than fundraising. The children have developed teamwork, determination, resilience and confidence while having lots of fun along the way.
We are so proud of every single one of them and incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this such a fantastic success.

⚽️🐻Buster Bear's Fundraising update ⚽️🐻

Our World Cup Sponsored Event is almost over, and we are excited to share that we have raised just under £200 so far towards our goal of £380 to send Buster Bear to the World Cup Final at the MetLife Stadium! ✈️🏆

The children have been busy completing their World Cup Challenges throughout the week, showing fantastic determination, teamwork and enthusiasm.

We've created our very own fundraising totaliser so everyone can keep track of Buster Bear's journey to the final. Thank you to all our families and friends who have sponsored us so far - your support means so much and is helping us get closer to our goal every day.

🍽️🌱 School Dinners Week at Pre-School 🌱🍽️

As part of our transition to school learning, last week, the children have been enjoying a week of hot school dinners at Pre-School!

This experience has helped the children become familiar with some of the routines they will encounter when they start school, including queuing patiently, making choices about their food, carrying their trays, enjoying their meal independently and scraping their trays when they have finished.

🥔Tuesday: Jacket potatoes, tuna, cheese and beans with salad
🍕🍝 Wednesday: Pizza and pasta with salad
🍗Thursday: Chicken dinner with potatoes and vegetables with gravy
🐟Friday: Fish Fingers and chips, vegetable and salad bar

Each day, the children were joined by their teachers for a social dining experience. Sharing mealtimes together provided wonderful opportunities for positive role modelling around healthy eating, trying new foods, good table manners and having conversations with friends.

We were delighted to offer a daily salad bar, featuring some vegetables grown right here in our Pre-School garden 🥬🫜 The children enjoyed selecting their own healthy options, and we have been especially pleased to see some of our more hesitant eaters showing curiosity and confidence when trying new foods - with some fantastic success!

School Dinners Week has been a brilliant way to develop independence, confidence, social skills and healthy eating habits while preparing our children for their next exciting step into school life.

This week we’re bringing the excitement of the World Cup into our annual sponsored event!

Our children are taking on a series of football inspired challenge to help raise money to send our very own Buster Bear to the final of the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium 🏟️ 🐻 Our target is £380 - the cost of a flight to get there! ✈️ Can we do it? We think so! 💪

Each child has their own Skills Passport and will be receiving stickers for each of the challenges they work through:

⚽️dribbling - ball control through obstacles
🎯scoring - counting and recording score
🥅throwing - aiming and distance control
🙌catching - safe hands and hand eye coordination
💪fitness - exercises for healthy body and mind
📣cheerleading and supporting - supporting friends and encouraging teamwork

Throughout the week we’ve also been learning We have been learning about the game of football and the countries taking part… from creating flags and scarves, football small world, football-themed crafts and of course learning all those anthems… Sweet Caroline, Vindaloo and Three Lions 🦁 🦁 🦁 because…. IT‘S COMING HOME!
