Today, some of the children from our Rights Steering Group went out into the local community to deliver the first of our Community Communication Stations.
This fantastic idea was suggested by the children themselves, with the aim of supporting children in the local community to communicate with others and have their voices heard.
Queens Hospital Children's Ward, McDonald's and Birds Bakery were the first receive their communication stations.
At Fountains, we are committed to supporting children to access and enjoy their rights, not only within our school but also locally and globally too.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, thoughtfulness and determination to advocate for others shown by our pupils. π£οΈπ

Octopus Class π
Over the past two days, pupils have shown fantastic progress in maths. Group 1 have been confidently partitioning 2- and 3-digit numbers, developing a strong understanding of place value, while Group 2 impressed us with their ability to read, draw and interpret pictograms, using the key accurately to understand what each symbol represents. A great effort from everyone! π

π©βπ§We are delivering a parent workshop on 'Understanding your child's Executive Function'π¨βπ©βπ§
Executive functioning refers to the brain skills we use to plan, organise, remember instructions, manage emotions and control impulses. Many children, especially those with additional needs, can find these skills challenging, which can impact daily routines like getting ready, completing tasks, or coping with change. This workshop will help parents and carers understand what executive functioning is, why their child may struggle, and most importantly share practical, easy-to-use strategies that can be used at home to support independence, reduce stress, and build confidence.
It will be on 8th July at 4:30pm - 5:30pm at Fountains Primary School (before the new parents open evening). All parents are welcome - both existing and those who will be new to school in September.
