After much thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to step back from teaching my regular yoga classes for now. At this time, I need to focus on my own health and wellbeing, and while this wasn’t an easy choice, it feels like the right one.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of my classes—you have made the experience so special, and I am truly grateful for your support. Teaching has been such a joy, and I will miss our time together.
This isn’t goodbye! 💛 While I won’t be running weekly classes, I’m hoping to offer weekend workshops in the future and would love to share those with you when the time comes.
With love and gratitude,
Jo

If any of you are affected by the closure of calm, please consider joining this group, which I will paste as a comment.
It's such a shock that this has happened and to see so many people affected in so many different ways.
Lost for words.
Take care xx

I’m deeply saddened to hear about Calm Studio closing. It was a special place where I trained and enjoyed many relaxing moments. My thoughts are with everyone in that wonderful community. 💔
If you’d like to try something new or continue your journey, I’d love to welcome you to my class. Your first class is free!
📅 Next Class: Monday, 27th January

It’s our 2nd week of our focus on balance.
This week we will try what we learned in our first week as part of a full routine.
If you didn’t come last week, no problem at all as I will cue and demonstrate every pose for you just like a normal class.

This month we are working on Balance and we're building up to poses like Dancer's Pose
This beautiful yoga pose blends strength, balance, and elegance. Here's why you’ll love it:
✨ Boosts focus and balance.
✨ Opens your heart and chest.
✨ Strengthens your legs and improves flexibility.
How to Try It:
1️⃣ Stand tall, shift weight to one leg, and lift the other foot toward your glutes.
2️⃣ Grab your lifted foot with the same-side hand.
3️⃣ Extend your free arm forward and kick your foot back into your hand.
4️⃣ Hold steady, breathe, and shine!
💡 Tip: Use a wall for balance or start small—every practice counts!

There are several different ways to pay for classes.
On the night, you can pay with cash, QR code or contactless card payment. Cash helps me as I have to pay a fee on card payments.
Alternatively, and to get the best value, you can pay for a month pass. Please ask and I will give you the account details to set up a standing order.

At our classes this week, I introduced these cards. I demonstrate each pose, I give lots of verbal cues and I will verbally suggest adjustments and the use of props. I haven't been using hands on assists which I had some additional training on at the weekend.
Rather than me asking you to put your hand up if you'd prefer not to receive hands on assists, these cards are placed at the end of your mat and you can turn them to either side. I come take a look while we get settled on the mat.
If at any point during the class you change your mind you can turn the card over again.
Assists are a way for me to help you get more out of the poses. It could be guiding your hands to stretch that little higher in high lunge, alternating pressure on your shoulders in savasana to help you relax.
