4 years already… where did the time go? 🦘❤️

It’s honestly hard to believe that Kangaroo Kids Childcare is already celebrating its 4th birthday.

When I opened my doors, I had no idea what this journey would bring. What I do know is that I couldn’t have asked for a better start. From day one, every place was filled, the waiting list kept growing, and your support has never stopped. Thank you for trusting me with the most important people in your lives—your children.

Over the last four years, I’ve been lucky enough to meet so many amazing families. Some of you have become real friends, and I love that we still meet up outside of childcare. One of my favourite parts of this journey has been watching not only your children grow, but your families too.

I’ve looked after your first little ones, then watched you arrive for drop-off with a baby bump… and before I knew it, I was welcoming their little brothers and sisters to Kangaroo Kids. I think that’s one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive.

This job has also been a gift to my own children. They’ve grown up surrounded by friends, laughter, and endless adventures—and I’m pretty sure we’ve gone through enough Play-Doh to open our own factory!

It’s been such a privilege to watch your children grow from tiny toddlers into confident, funny, kind little people. There have been countless cuddles, lots of messy play, mountains of Play-Doh, glitter that still appears in random places, and enough nursery songs to stay in my head forever!

Thank you for being part of this journey and for making Kangaroo Kids feel like one big family🏠❤️

Let’s get to know each other 🤗👋

Children have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a teenager, I was always surrounded by children, looking after the little ones in my family. That’s where my love for childcare really began.

Later on, I chose to study Midwifery. Although working in a hospital gave me valuable experience, I realised I was missing everyday, close contact with children. I wanted to be involved in their daily development, not only at the very beginning of life. That’s when I decided to work in a nursery.

One moment in particular stayed with me. During a meeting with new families, a mother approached me and told me she clearly remembered me being present at her delivery while I was still a student. Now, years later, her daughter was about to join my group. It felt like a meaningful full-circle moment and confirmed that I was on the right path.

I worked in the nursery for two years while completing my Master’s degree in Care and Educational Pedagogy. Before leaving Poland, I felt a strong need for change. I wanted to create something of my own, but at that time I didn’t have the financial means to do so. Moving to England was a conscious decision that allowed me to build a stable foundation and prepare myself for the next step.

My first job in the UK was in a warehouse, which helped me gain confidence with the English language. Later, I worked in administration. When I became pregnant, everything naturally came together. It felt like the right moment to return to working with children in a way that also allowed me to stay close to my own family.

After completing all the required courses, I opened Kangaroo Kids Childcare. The Ofsted inspection was one of the most challenging stages of this journey and required thorough preparation, both in theory and in practice. After nearly four hours of inspection, receiving a positive outcome was a very satisfying moment.

At the same time, I was building my portfolio on Facebook and received a great deal of interest from families. Kangaroo Kids Childcare has now been operating for nearly four years. Today, I am the only Polish childminder in the local area, offering a warm, safe and caring environment where children can feel secure, supported and at home.

Last year I achieved Level 3 in Special Educational Needs, and it’s already helping me improve my work with children.

At the moment, we are in the process of extending our setting by adding an additional playroom. I am also looking for new team members, so if you are reading this and feel that you could be the right person for this role, please feel free to get in touch with me.
