A huge thank you to the brilliant teams from National Grid, who returned to Newton Solney this summer for another fantastic volunteering day! πΏβοΈ
Our Forest School field has been growing non-stop lately, but this crew jumped straight in and got so much done.
From clearing overgrown paths and taming the bushes, to reshaping our willow dome and ticking off a long list of odd jobs, the area is looking better than ever.
Volunteers like you make such a massive difference to our outdoor spaces and learning environments.
Special thanks to Volunteering Matters and Mr Duke for organising such a productive session! β¨

Today we said a fond farewell to the wonderful Miss Allan, who has been a valued part of the Newton Solney family since 2014.
Over the past 12 years, Miss Allan has touched the lives of countless children and families with her kindness, patience, dedication and unwavering care. She has been a constant source of support, encouragement and positivity, helping our children grow in confidence and flourish.
Miss Allanβs warmth, sense of humour and commitment to our school community will be greatly missed by pupils, parents, governors and colleagues alike. While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed to our school and wish her every happiness and success in the future.
Thank you, Miss Allan, for all the memories, care and laughter. You will always be part of the Newton Solney family. β€οΈ

π³β¨ Year 2 Legacy Project 2026 β¨π³
Each year, our Year 2 children take part in a special Legacy Project, reflecting on their time at Newton Solney C of E Infant School and considering how they can make it even better for future generations.
This year, the children decided that our playground would benefit from more shade and shared their vision for a calm, shaded area where children can enjoy quiet games, read, chat and spend time together. They were keen for the space to reflect our schoolβs Do Be Values:
π Do Be Kind
π Do Be Friendly
π Do Be Respectful
π Do Be Responsible
To make their vision a reality, the children have worked incredibly hard throughout the year to raise funds. They have shown fantastic leadership by running clubs for younger pupils and organising a successful book sale, demonstrating real commitment to improving our school for those who will follow in their footsteps.
On Friday, we held a special presentation and grand opening of the new area. It was wonderful to celebrate the childrenβs hard work, dedication and achievement together. Seeing their idea become a reality was a proud moment for everyone involved.
We are so proud of our Year 2 children. Their thoughtfulness, teamwork and determination embody everything we hope our pupils will be. They are leaving a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations of Newton Solney children for years to come. πΏβ¨

π³π Mouse Club Forest School Fun! ππ³
It was lovely to welcome our September starters back to Newton Solney C of E Infant School for their final transition session. This week, the children enjoyed a special Forest School experience alongside their Mouse and families, exploring, learning and having fun together outdoors.
Transition is a real strength at Newton Solney, and we are proud to ensure that we know our children and families well before they start school. Through our Mouse Club sessions, children become familiar with our staff, environment and routines, helping them to feel confident, settled and ready for their next exciting step.
We canβt wait to welcome all of our new starters in September. They are more than ready for their big adventure at Newton Solney! πβ¨
