A warm and nurturing day nursery in the heart of Burton Pidsea, offering childcare from 0–5 years, wraparound care for the local primary school, and a holiday club. The Nursery is situated on the Main Road in Burton Pidsea, close to the school. We are open from 7:30am-5.45pm and can accomodate children from birth to 11 years. We offer session times throughout the day or full-day care. School drop

off and collections are available for Burton Pidsea. Mary Poppins Day Nursery is situated in an outbuilding, which has been sympathetically converted specifically and exclusively as a Day Nursery, creating a warm and friendly environment in which your child will thrive. We also boast a large enclosed garden with a grass area incorporating 'Bert's Secret Garden'. There are numerous activities that the children will participate in, developing their personality and potential to the full: Art, Creativity, Construction , Role play, Outdoor play, Sensory experiences, Singing and much much more! Our small team of qualified practitioners are chosen for the dedication that they bring to the business and above all to the children that they look after. We strive to create a trusting bond between our staff and the children. An equal bond is also essential with the parents who trust 'Mary Poppins' to care for their children. Now that the summer months are fast approaching, can we ask that all parents to bring hats (clearly labelled) and suncream please. ☀️ ☀️ also for children in our baby room that are beginning to toddle some shoes or suitable footwear 👶🏼 😊

Well this is hardest post I have ever had to write, today we say goodbye to this absolute legend of a guy, we still haven’t come to terms with it at all, but we are going to give him the best send off ever, nothing that he doesn’t deserve.

Many of you know him as “Father Christmas” but he is also Emily’s dad, year after year he would say to me that he has split his crotch of his Santa suit, but it wasn’t due to him eating to much throughout the year, it was due to me shrinking it in the tumble dryer 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️😁. He was a massive part of Mary Poppins at Christmas time and was brilliant with the children, they all loved him ( well some cried 😬) but he managed to win them round.

I can go on forever and talk about what a nice, caring, funny, considerate man is was but I will be here forever.

I’m sure you will join us all here at Mary Poppins Day Nursery in sending our condolences to Emily and her family.

If you have any pictures of him with your children we would love you to put them on here in the comments, it would be lovely to see them.

You are going to be missed by so many people, but we are going to celebrate your life like you would want us to.

I am 'over the moon' having recently obtained planning permission for the relocation of Mary Poppins Day Nursery from its current location to Burton Pisdea School. This is a very important Planning Permission and means a great deal for lots of local families and the village school. Good luck Carly and all those involved 👍

Good morning everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to keep Mary Poppins closed until further notice, my priority as always is the children and families of Mary Poppins and of corse my very important ladies that make Mary Poppins what it is, I need to try and keep all of you safe and to open up the nursery in these unprecedented times would put us all at a higher risk of contracting this horrendous virus, which nobody wants.

As always I will keep you updated as much as I can, I hope you all understand my reasonings behind this hard decision ☹️.

Hopefully it won’t be much longer before we can start caring for our lovely little ones again, that myself and all of the ladies are missing so very much, please don’t grow to quick 😊.

Please stay safe and take care of your families.

Good evening everyone,

I hope your all safe and well and have been enjoying the nice sunny weather as much as possible.

I was hoping to have more information to update you on when we will be re-opening, but after the PM’S update last night we didn’t really get a lot of clear information from it.

I am hoping that in the next week or so I will know more and the DFE(department for education) will of updated us more as the government gives us more accurate guidelines to be able to take steps to re-open safely. I’m afraid I can’t give you an exact date when this will be until I know more but I will keep you all informed when I know when this might be.

WOW !!!!!!

I have managed to hold it together and go into nursery this morning and sort out the last few bits and pieces and I have picked the nursery phone up and brought it home with me to keep everyone updated with everything and wow, I am absolutely overwhelmed with all your support and caring comments that you have responded with after the news that we are closing our doors, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your messages of support that you have sent and all the comments on here. You are all amazing, I can’t thank you enough, thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
