🐾 Special Visit from a Prison Dog Handler 🐾

Today, our students had a fascinating and engaging experience during a visit from a professional prison dog handler—and his incredible dog, Daisy! 🐶

All students took part and showed fantastic engagement throughout the session. They learned about the important role working dogs play in keeping people safe, and even had the opportunity to see how everyday items can be adapted into prohibited objects—and how officers identify clever hiding places.

A highlight of the visit was meeting Daisy and watching her in action. Students were amazed by her skills, focus, and the strong partnership she shares with her handler.

It was a valuable and memorable experience for everyone involved, helping students gain insight into real-world careers, safety, and responsibility.

As part of apprenticeship week we visited the jobs fair at Stoke City, we spoke to the colleges and some employers and got lots of information and treats to take away.

A great trip to Gladstone Pottery Museum!
We loved exploring our local heritage and discovering how pottery was made here in the past. Students then had a go at creating their own clay pots — lots of smiles and clay everywhere!

Alpha will be opening at the later time of 10am tomorrow to allow staff to fully assess the roads/transport arrangements for students due to the icy streets and forecast snow overnight. We will contact parents/carers as soon as we can in the morning if we make the decision to close the school.
