⚡ Excited to share our new upcoming Autumn piano workshop (8-12 yrs)! Bookings are now live (link in bio)⚡
Ever wondered what makes music sound magical, mysterious or wondrous?
This October holiday - as the nights draw in and cooler seasons beckon - we're hosting a special workshop for children ages 8-12 years to explore the maths behind the music.
⚡ What makes the Harry Potter film score sound mystical?
⛰️ How does composer Grieg create sonic trolls in In the Hall of the Mountain King?
🪐 How does Holst create interplanetary wonder is his Planets suite?
Lord of the Rings, Swan Lake, Toccata in D - we decode and demystify the maths in the music in this 2 hour piano workshop, where lateral thinking and logic work together harmoniously.
Students will comprehend and learn to play a range of musical devices, giving them the tools to develop their own atmospheric and cinematic compositions.
Students will work as a group, in pairs and individually across the two hours on a range of musical activities.
Skill level: No experience needed — just curiosity and creativity. This workshop has differentiated activities which makes it suitable for absolute beginners - grade 1 standard.

🎶 We have TWO spaces left in our Mini Maestros (4-5 yrs) piano class, which is held on Mondays at 3.30-4pm weekly🎶
Our popular classes for 4-5 year olds support our youngest students to learn music fundamentals through exploring piano geography, playing simple melodies and rhythms, establishing correct technique and enjoying opportunities to play as an ensemble.

⏱️Autumn term pending!...
We have a few spaces left for children ages 7+ in our new 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.
Imagineers classes are a brilliant starting point for new young piano students. Classes focus on laying the musical foundations to support students in becoming excellent pianists, all within a fun small group setting of 3-4 students.
The new classes we have available are:

For K-Pop loving 7-12 year olds this summer!
In this creative 2-hour workshop, children aged 7–12 discover what makes K-Pop so irresistibly catchy, then create and perform their own original K-Pop melodies on the piano.
From catchy hooks to driving rhythms, they'll learn the musical ingredients behind the hit film soundtrack, and use them to make something completely their own.
Skill level: No experience needed — just energy and enthusiasm. Suitable for absolute beginners - grade 1.
Group size: Maximum 10 places.

✨ Musical Wayfinders: Set Sail on a Musical Voyage and Restore the Heart of Burntisland! (Students will learn music fundamentals and creative composition through the 'hero's journey' story arc of Moana)
✨ Write Your Own Video Game Music (Students will map out their own video game stories and compose scores in the style of Minecraft and Roblox!)
All workshops are perfect for ages 7-12 years, for absolute beginners up to grade 1 level.

☀️ Good morning and happy holidays to all of our students! ☀️
We are so looking forward to having many of you join us at the upcoming summer workshops - kicking off next week ✨
I have loved every step of creating these workshops - from designing the musical constraints for each challenge/chapter of the workshop, to creating the takeaway packs with composition exercises, themed activity sheets and musical reference info for students to continue their learning at home. (The title pages double as a colouring page so that each student can go on to customise their pack at home.)

All workshops focus on giving students the tools and knowledge to write their own cinematic music, and to further engage with their creativity and imagination. We’ll be:
✨ Writing music for our own Minecraft and Roblox games in ‘Write Your Own Video Game Music’
✨ Learning about musical patterns amidst the waves of ‘Musical Wayfinders: Set sail on a musical voyage and restore the heart of Burntisland!’
✨ Writing our own K-Pop songs around a Hero’s Journey narrative in ‘K-Pop Melody Makers’
✨ Scoring the magical characters and lands of the Faraway Tree in ‘Composing the Enchanting World of Enid Blyton
