My controversial hot tip for…
Preparing for Physiological birth.
Share / tag a pregnant loved one who needs more of these kind of friends in their pregnancy
Make FRIENDS WITH
JOY
GRACE
CELEBRATION
Without these we move into a place where either the head is leading the show
So often worry and anxiety are steering the ship
Now yes fear is a very primal and physiological part of birth (more on that incoming), AND with that worry and anxiety may feature - this is the pregnancy training ground where we want to explore those fears, apprehensions and worries.
AND my friend without Joy, Grace and Celebration it makes the seismic deeply soul searching initiation of birth REALLY FU***NG HARD.
The orientation within the medical model of care we are in roots in wildly restrictive and often coercive control mechanics and surveillance methods that are presented as measures for optimising SAFETY. The opposite is most frequently true. These ‘surviellience methods and heavy increasing numbers of screenings are resulting in 2 very distinct and clear pathways;
1. Increased Anxiety, and lack of self trust
2. EXCLUSION OF FUNDAMENTALs that actively support birth physiology- Joy, Grace and celebration AINT EVEN ON THE GUEST LIST - never mind getting into the BIRTH PARTY!!!
To support our nervous system and whole body health - mind, emotions, body, soul we NEED CELEBRATION, we need to BELIEVE in our innate capacity to birth. Celebration that is cultivated In pregnancy that feeds into our RELATIONSHIP with our BODY, our BABY and BIRTH itself!
To support the seismic parasympathetic let down required for our sphincters to open to support perineal tissue health and a whole system release to receive our baby we NEED GRACE - Grace to release to surrender to TRUST in the energies and initiation of birth that is bigger than us thst is moving through and with us into our becoming as mother.
We NEED JOY to cultivate a sense of joy for the life we’re nurturing! for life giving organ- the placenta we are growing. JOY for capacity to literally hold a universe within us and allow that universal energy to move through us to birth our baby and ourselves as mother

The first 40 days post-birth are essential for healing and restoring your body, as well as bonding with your baby. Nutrition is key. So is slowing down, loving and caring for yourself, and prioritising ways of practical support.

The post-natal period requires us to start a line of conscious, loving dialogue with ourselves. It requires we listen to our body, tune in, and respond to its needs. And speaking in a language that our body understands starts with something as simple as breathing.
This is how yoga can help! Breathwork and mindful movement techniques will help you restore balance, to nurture first. Then stabilise, then strengthen — in that order.
If you are ready to start moving, I have great news for you! You can join our welcoming and supportive space in to move, rest and connect with your body — and bond with baby! — while finding community and friendship yourself.

The month after birth is a time for nurturance, loving touch, care, nourishment, rest and honouring yourself. While we live in a culture of hyper-individualised living, with our working weeks oriented to serve bodies with higher testosterone levels, and constant reliance on virtual connectivity, the postpartum period asks for community and hands-on support.
Mothering in this time can be complex and sometimes it's easy to forget we are not meant to do this alone. Hydration, movement, rest, nourishment, connection...These are all things a new mother needs in abundance in the (4th Trimester).
Is your due date looming on the horizon? What if we could get ready together? Journey through this period of huge adjustment and intensity, feeling supported and loved! Drop me a message or visit tessarosewelsh.com/mamas to find out what a Post-Natal Support is all about!
Look at the loving collective support and care for this new mother and her baby
Space to honour the mother
Ritual ceremony to welcome in healing and protection for them both
To acknowledge and celebrate the sacred passage and seismic life giving journey thst mother and her baby have been on.
The focus on this - bringing ritual richness, healing presence and community connection in the form of support.
Ceremony, ritual and honouring in this way bring richness and wholeness to our experience. A connection to the earth to ancestors and honours and welcomes the web of support that is unseen and available to us.
That upholds that mothering is
A COLLECTIVE ACT.
To mother in all ways requires support collective holding, gathering, investment.
We were never meant to mother Alone.
