Physiological Birth - Is it getting harder?

Management and surveillance
The hard truth is that our medical systems are not set up to support physiological birth.
They are set up to manage birth. Meeting the needs and space and undulations of the early warming phase of labour, isn’t a reality. Time cost resource centres on management, control and most times results in increased management augmentation and interventions.

Unicorn status!
At this time birthing people feel like they must convince care providers of their capabilities to birth physiologically, where gaining yourself a ‘low risk’ status is becoming increasingly difficult.

Doership culture & info overload
There is a constant bombardment of information in pregnancy a lot of it rooted in pathologising pregnancy and birth.
where we get our information and what we choose to engage with is the piece. We want to feel Informed and have agency and autonomy
Think your way through - head down approach - being constantly bombarded with information, serves to fire neocortex activation. The focus on “do more, learn more, buy more to birth your baby.

Bottom up and inner spiral!
Practice BEING with your body and baby through touch, movement and breath-sound connection. Building sensitisation to more subtle frequencies of communication and connection requires patience and practice. Slowing down requires a level of surrender and vulnerability that is inherently woven into birthing.
