Here at playgroup, we are deeply saddened to hear the news of Pat's passing.
For many families in Burntisland, Pat was Playgroup. She embodied the fun, caring and warmth we strive to offer all our children and families.
Pat's charismatic and vivacious nature along with her big heart, helped many children in the town experience their first time away from their own families in Playgroup.
Our thoughts are with Pats family and we can say confidently that Pat has left a legacy of laughter and love with many generations of the town ♥️

🌞 🐝 A busy week in the sun for us at Playgroup
We set up the bell tent in the garden to give us some shade from the sun ☀️ (and then the wind!)
Some children helped us by hitting the pegs in to hold it in position 🔨 ⛺️
We had a very warm visit to the beach 🏖️
Ending the week with some stories and fun at the library 📚
If you fancy joining Playgroup as a setting for your child or as a staff member please get in touch at [email protected]

⭐️ learning this week ⭐️
✏️This week we noticed some of our seeds had started to grow 🌱
✏️ we planted some seed potatoes that if we take care of them should be ready for coming back in August 🤞🏻
✏️ our story this week was Jack and the Beanstalk. As always we discussed the features of a book and learning about authors, illustrators, front cover, back cover, spine, title and blurb 🙌🏻
✏️ we created our own beanstalk after a child suggested we could climb our own one! We have started measuring ourselves to add our own little "jacks"
✏️ this lead onto some children building their own castles with the building blocks and magnatiles
✏️ finally, we have been trialling cooking on the for pit 🔥
We made some caramelised bananas with the children helping prepare them before we cooked them.
The children then made their own fire pit and fire engine using the loose parts.
"Yum" "I want another one!" "I can smell the fire"
Happy learning and happy children 🌍 ❤️

⭐️ learning at playgroup this week ⭐️
This week we started our planting for the season, following on from learning about Earth Day 🌍
🌱 we took turns whilst planting different herbs, listening to each other, discussing what plants need to grow and following instructions🪴
🍓 we are beginning to see the start of our strawberries growing so we gave a helping hand pollinating them 🐝
👷We risk assessed our surroundings and created a slide using loose parts in the garden. Some needed a helping hand to begin with, however confidence quickly grew and everyone had a turn 🛝
🐈⬛ ended the week with a walk to see the Wemyss Ware Cat in Burntisland 🐈⬛
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend ☀️
