Extending our children's learning,,, one of our toddlers talked all about their visit to the farm, encouraging staff to extend learning on this interest introducing mathematics and rhyme. 🐷🐥

The children began singing lots of songs and all enjoyed joining in 5 speckled frogs and jumping around the room. The following day the staff had set up a speckled frog activity introducing different colours. 🐸
One child said they read the room on a broom and that has a frog in it and pretended to be a witch. Later in the afternoon staff set up a spooky potion making activity full of spells and encouraging fine motor skills. 🤩🧙‍♀️
When mixing potions and casting spells the children began to make some 'yummy pizzas' using the cut out paper pretending to make dinner in the kitchen.
When they returned the following day the team had a wonderful pizza kitchen set up. We could pretend to be chefs and made some delicious pizzas 👨‍🍳🍕
We were so lucky that our chef came and let us make some of our own delicious pizzas we did an amazing job ! we asked the chef if we could make some biscuits and Nic said we would need to order in some extra ingredients.
So for now we did a fun cookie activity where we can count out the cookies in to the cookie jar. 🍪1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ & we can not wait to make our very own!

What starts as one child's interest,,, always leads to a world of extended learning in the most fun way
