Employer Grants and Benefits: The advantages of hiring an Apprentice🏆
Big changes are coming to Apprenticeships and they're great news for employers.

- £1,000 for hiring an apprentice aged 16-18, or 19-24 if they have an EHCP or are a care leaver
- Up to £2,000 for offering a Foundation Apprenticeship to someone aged 16-21 (up to 24 in some circumstances), supporting their progression to a further apprenticeship
- £3,000 for hiring an 18–24-year-old on Universal Credit for 6+ months, paid straight to you (from June 2026)
- Up to £2,000 for SMEs hiring a new apprentice aged 16 - 24 (from October 2026)
Plus:
- 0% employer National Insurance for eligible apprentices under 25 earning below £50,270
- Apprenticeship training is fully funded by government for all eligible apprentices aged 16 to 24, whether you're a levy-paying employer or a non-levy SME (from August 2026)
- A £3,000 bursary paid directly to eligible care leaver apprentices, paid directly to them over their first year, on top of their wage.
